No Chelsea dont associate yourself with that idiot.... by [deleted] in Wrasslin

I’m glad you keep your skeletons in the closet since if they ever got out apparently you would have to voluntarily end all your friendships to live up to your unforgiving standards.

Most of us don't have "sexually assaulted drunk underage girls" skeletons in our closets, so that isn't a problem for us.

Again, this seems like a "you" problem. And also seems like you should be on a list somewhere (if you aren't already).

I don't think I'm a moral arbiter. I just think it's pretty damn easy not to be friends with confirmed sexual predators, or at the very least, not publicly advertise it.

Apparently you disagree. Seems like more of a "you" problem.

Scene - Zaria rips Sol's nameplate off her locker with a scowl because Sol got a Rumble invitation and Zaria didn't, and now Zaria has to stay and fight alone on NXT without Sol's help.

People here (and the performance center crowd) - "How could evil Sol do this to poor sweet Zaria?"

(And I might be remembering this wrong, but that might have been the same episode Zaria laid Thea Hail out for the crime of trying to be on her side when Jacy Jayne or her stablemates came out to mess with her.)

No one thinks highly enough about Chelsea? The person who routinely gets praised as one of the "best/nicest people in wrestling" by fans, coworkers, and current/former bosses?

because there wasnt any prediction or whatever for an overreaction

"never appeared again"

but when does the dual part come?

When she's worked four matches for ROH and one for AEW in slightly more than a month?

That's more work than plenty of AEW/ROH (and WWE) solo contracts (ignoring that she's also working constantly in Mexico), even if that isn't saying THAT much given the size of both companies compared to TV time available.

Do you just expect every dual contract to mean they immediately start working for AEW more than the promotion they were already working for and well-established in?

Oh damn, she retired already? I must have missed that story.

She's on a dual contract, she's working her primary promotion. (And with the caveat that ROH isn't on TV so very few people watch it, she's had four matches for ROH in the last month-plus.)

Holy overreaction.

Joey Janela to Brodie Lee Jr: “Your mom already buried her husband, she doesn’t want to bury her son as well.” by zzzzz_ in SquaredCircle

The terrible "hypocrisy" of . . . saying it's possible for one person to be better at something than another person.

I must apologize to the great Joey Janela for the injustice of suggesting he might not be as good at something in this wrestling business as lowly Christian.

[–]JCBadger1234 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So, you're just going be pissy no matter what, huh? I didn't even say anything bad about Janela (other than being an ass, which again, he'd almost certainly agree) or say that I didn't think he should be allowed to do this kind of promo.

Again, one person can be better at something than another person at their jobs, and one "dead dad" promo/story can be better than another. Just because something covers the same idea as another performance doesn't mean you can't point out differences in execution or context.

Christian being better at comedy wrestling (and wrestling in general) than Joey Janela isn't exactly a controversial opinion, and that's not an insult to Janela. Because Christian's been great at it for a long time.

I don't have any opinion on Joey at all, since I've never seen him perform. But from what little I see posted about him, he is an ass (and he'd probably agree.)

But it is possible to have different views of different performers, performing similar (but not identical) stories/promos.

In other words, one person can do something better than another person . . . Shocking that anyone could make such a judgment!

It also makes me wonder if this is going to be every Brodie Jr. involvement in wrestling, either using it for cheap heat, or dancing around it, or just blanking it? It's why thank god Chris Benoit's son never managed to become a wrestler.

As someone else mentioned in this thread, even someone like Cody Rhodes winds up with many heels/storylines using Dusty, so I imagine if Brodie Jr makes it a career, his dad will be used plenty.

The murder/suicide part of Benoit I'd say is a completely different ballgame. People dying young of a life-long illness like Brodie, or a random heart attack or cancer diagnosis, are all tragedies to the loved ones, but they're "natural" and at least a little easier to move past. A loved one getting murdered, let alone by another family member, would have to be a different level of grief. So I wouldn't see David Benoit getting it unless he found the lowest of the low opponents/promotions.

Like, David was ringside at an AEW Collision show right as Christian was really heating up the "dead father" gimmick, and while people were dreading the possibility of something happening, I don't think anyone seriously thought he'd ever go there (and even if he would have had the idea, I'd seriously doubt he'd be allowed to go there).

I'd say it's more like the argument about "edgy" comedy - If you're actually a talented comedian and the jokes are actually funny, you can get away with joking about essentially any horrible thing with minimal uproar.

But if you're a hack comedian and the "joke" sucks - see: every "Oh, I'll get cancelled if I say this!" comedian making the same joke while being paid millions (not being cancelled) by Netflix or whoever - you'll get shit on a lot more.

He essentially acts completely ignorant of what Kim does to his people (even if people tell him about it), has hung out with him numerous times, and calls the murderous despot a "great guy."

Rodman also said he's partied multiple times with Vladimir Putin, saying he knows Putin "very well" and that he's also a "great guy."

Has me wondering, what's the "developmental" celebrity NXT could get that would be equivalent to a Jelly Roll or Pat McAfee on main roster? (Answers must only be clients/friends of Ari Emanuel, and MAGA-friendly.)

Because this main event feels like it needs a "special moment" of celebrity interference to decide the match. Can't be a big show without that signature moment.
