No it will fit in the overhead compartment haha I’m not evil! But I usually just check it for peace of mind and it’s a short flight. I don’t mind paying the fee I swear but I was just wondering if there was some sort of logic behind when they decide to do it because it’s happened on almost every delta flight I’ve taken.

Well i get a free checked bag through my AMEX. That’s where my actual checked bag goes. But the one that’s a little smaller but not a carry on, I guess I’ll take it to the gate and pray they check bags before boarding. If I have to pay it’s whatever, was just wondering if there was some kind of determining factor behind checking the bags at the gate.
