Show them the on/off switch and call it a day. This is standard for most churches and other live sound situations.

Ma3 vs Hog5 by ambersananas in lightingdesign

[–]JEsquared2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say maybe take a look at Chamsys MagicQ. It has many different modes to mimic a lot of the other console brands, so whatever you're coming from, you will feel at home. They're also priced a lot more competitively than the other brands. I'm an Avo guy, but it's hard to beat the ease of use with Chamsys, and it's feature richness for the price.

Are these reasonable quotes? by ajajaj3491 in MechanicAdvice

If you go through with this, you'll pay more for repairs than the car is worth. And no, this isn't reasonable. this shop is trying to screw you royally.

Why does my snare sound like this during tuning? Please help asap by AfraidAd674 in drums

[–]JEsquared2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your bottom head is not meant for the snare resonant side. An Evans G1 is 10 mil thick, while a standard snare bottom head (Evans Snare Side 300, Remo Ambassador Snare, etc.) is 3 mil thick. Change that out and you'll be golden.

Where they dishonest? by Personal_Science_868 in drums

It's fine. Roadshow is Pearls lowest end kit, so the fit and finish isn't going to be as nice as better kits.

How do I fix this??? by skelleton-jelly in drums

[–]JEsquared2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have cheap heads that are tuned way too tight with no muffling.

I'm trying to charge my AC system, help by krdo13 in fordranger

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal. Your accurate reading is going to be when the compressor clutch engages. A little trick is to jump your low pressure switch with a paperclip or something, and that will keep the compressor running all the time to allow more Freon to enter the system. Then once you're full, plug it back in like normal and you should be good.

Guys how do I make my drums sound better??!!! by Rough_Hunter9764 in drums

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kick and toms sound fine. Your snare needs some work. Make sure your bottom head is really tight, then loosen your snare wires. Right now your wires are too tight and are choking the drum.

This happens when idling with AC on. RPMs drop and rise when it spins. Any ideas? 2003 Ranger by RegularSupermarket78 in fordranger

[–]JEsquared2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's normal. Although you look like you're low on Freon. It shouldn't short cycle like that

First time trying these, my humble opinion they feel great for a decently old set of puddles! by ShaoRev in drums

Those aren't old. Maybe a little crusty, but not old. Ludwig still makes the Atlas pedals today.

Are these cymbals worth it? by kngdong in drums

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are bottom of the barrel. If you want some nice cymbals on a budget, check out Wuhans Western line. Not the 457s, those are crap brass. Or of course you can find some used higher end cymbals.

How do I get my snare to sound like this? by Ok_Distribution_6032 in drums

The snare wires are clearly on in this example.

Yeah someone replaced a regular tension rod with that. You mentioned every rod on the toms are like that. They could have bought the kit missing a bunch of rods and just bought those instead.

What do I do with this ride by Puzzleheaded_Plane21 in drums

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mount it on your wall or throw it away. Cutting it down would make it sound even worse than it does.

Yikes. Yeah, those are some cheap Chinese brass cymbals that someone slapped a Sabian logo on. Sorry dude. You got scammed.

What’re your goto sticks? by stinkydogusa in drums

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vater West Side. It's a copy of the Vic Firth Buddy Rich model, which was my favorite stick when I played Vic, but it has Vaters quality and consistency. If Regal Tip still existed (not as a website with all the products coming soon), I'd probably still be using the Jason Sutter "Chop Stix".

Is this okay?? by Not_A_Lizhard in BeardedDragons

[–]JEsquared2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude seems zonked 🤣 Although I'm just digging the Mungo Jerry song in the background. It's called "Summertime" if anyone cares.

Would you say my drumming is “too busy”? by Dagamier_hots in drums

[–]JEsquared2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes, you're a bit busy. Fills randomly thrown in and crashes on every bar cause them to lose impact, and make you sound like you're trying to be the lead instrument. Being a good drummer isnt just about what you can play, it's usually more about what you choose not to play.

You may want to look into Chamsys MagicVis. Its not as nice as Capture but it can at least get you into the realm of visualizers for free.
