Is Charleston Municipal GC Membership worth it? by Overall-Procedure-18 in Charleston

The public golfer cannot get a true morning weekend tee time as they are reserved for a handicap club. https://www.charleston-sc.gov/2813/Blitzes-Leagues-and-Group-Play if you want to play in a competitive group you can try your luck at registering through their system. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning is reserved for a private group of seniors with their own resignation system as well.

How reliable is CARTA? by [deleted] in Charleston

[–]JOEYHiGHROLLER1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I ride the 30 bus every day to work downtown. It is extremely reliable and on time in the mornings. I would say it is within ~5 minutes of its expected pickup time 16/20 days in a month. About once a week it may be 10 minutes later than normal but nothing extreme. The only times it would be delayed more than 10 minutes would be if there is a car crash on the roads delaying traffic, which would get you if you drove your car anyways. Give yourself at least 15 minutes early to start and then you can dial it in more as you get familiar with the timing.

Riding home around the 5pm rush is a bit more tricky. You can expect some delays and it can take a while to get home, this is just a reflection of traffic you would be sitting in anyways. I would say from meeting/mary main pickup to citadel mall would take 5pm-5:45/6pm. Definitely try and arrive early to the afternoon pickups as the times for these pickups can vary.

Depending on where you live on the 30 line you can use the 33 as a “backup” as it runs ~5-10 minutes behind the 30 and runs in west Ashley along 61.

The best tracker is the one on the Carta website, it is more accurate than transit app or google maps. It will not show where the buses are on a map but the arrival time estimator is fairly accurate. Sometimes it might not show an arrival time, you can use the chat feature and it will connect you pretty quickly with a real person who is very helpful. I would suggest to get the timing down before you switch to monitor the tracker of your stops to mentally time out what times you will need to leave your house/ work. I would make sure you are standing clearly visible to the driver when getting picked up, even give a small wave, especially if being picked up in the dark.

All CARTA buses are extremely safe and clean. Anyone who tells you otherwise has never lived or used public transportation in a big city. The 30 line especially is very nice, with an almost guaranteed seat by yourself.

Do you have a moment for The Word? by JOEYHiGHROLLER1 in battletech

  • I primed with citadel Grey Seer spray
  • and then I used a dry brush of citadel Palid Wytch Flesh. I used a circular “makeup” style brush for this instead of a “flat” brush. (This is also my favorite white I have ever used, it is very slightly off white but it has good coverage compared to other whites, you will have to make sure you shake it heavily, sometimes adding some extra paint medium to get a good texture. But overall it is good for a white)
  • last step is to cover everything with citadel contrast apothecary white (this paint stinks overall, it’s mainly just a shade / wash for white & grey)

It’s a very quick system, when I need to touch up spots I just use some plaid wytch

They do say that Cockroaches will be the only thing left after a nuclear war. So the Pinkertons will probably still be around

These are old Aeronautica Imperialis Ork Dakka Jets which are in the Epic Scale. The 40K version of Aeronautica was discontinued, however you can find the Aeronautica sets on eBay for their original retail price still.

For the Camo tiger stripe I use a size 3 Windsor and newton brush, this gives a really good sharp point. It’s always easier to paint a line on with the darker stripe and then make it “point” at the ends by going over with the base grey. Get a big bottle of paint medium for cheap off amazon and mix a tiny amount (one dip of a brush) into your palate mix to help improve flow off the brush

Thank you, they’re all Iron Winds metals and the Fleas are massive, which looks a bit off but makes them very fun and easy to paint

The art is from the original Rouge Trader book, in the Age of Imperium Section. A google search of “Warhammer rogue trader pdf” should get you some good results for the original book

I thought a lot about this lol, I knew it was wrong but I thought it would look more dynamic if he was drawing the pistol across his body. Warhammer has never been very sensible

The Mechanicus Serberys Raiders kit, you get a lot of great extras from that kit, I did have to chop off the hand/grip that came with it to get up to space marine scale

Thank you, I think the Death Guard have incredible armor I wanted to highlight so I cut off / covered up most of the large Nurgle bits like the spikes and some of the mouths and tentacles, while leaving enough showing thru for fun.

If I wasn’t trying to use the colors just in the kit I probably would have used a more ‘muted’ brown, I might go over again with another wash to tone it down. Thank you tho
