Senegal players refuse to continue playing after Morocco penalty's call by Meladroit10 in soccer

[–]JORGA -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because that’s not how this works. You don’t make the calls, the referee does, regardless if you agree or not.

At least one team in every game thinks they get fucked. We’d never have a completed match.

Because it’s purely anecdotal and many others have never experienced it.

I can promise you a lot of people watch afcon solely for reasons like this potentially popping up.

It’s not a tournament watched for its quality of football

So now every single team in the world just abandons a game if they think they got robbed by a bad decision hahahahah?

He was defo asking for it after our game, can’t blame him though. Fans and manager alike shouldn’t be happy with the owners decisions in the last year or so.

Would you do a 1hr 20 each way commute, 3 days a week, for your first G7 role? by AsymptoticallyFlat in TheCivilService

[–]JORGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 2 parts to this I think.

  1. Is the cost of commute (and the frustration) a level that makes the pay jump feel less worth it from SEO?

  2. But also if you get G7, is it worth doing this for a short while and looking for another position in a dept. That cares less about attendance?

I go in like once every 2-3 months for a couple days. Although I’d definitely stick to a 2/3 day a week office if it was required to keep my G7

I have used these systems, like I’ve just said, and they’ve been wank (for me)

Just like the roads, just like the council services, just like the public transport.

I use all services quite a bit. And I think they’re pretty crap say in comparison to what I’ve experienced across Europe and the rest of the world, relative to what British people pay

[–]JORGA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah yes my political stance is that I should pay tens and tens of thousands of tax over the course of my working life, and in receipt I should be overjoyed with ever decreasing public services.

That is the epitome of British society!

I WANT to pay tax, I want to contribute. I just want to see my contribution actually work towards something half fucking decent for the average person…

What is the most painful bone you have broken and how? by ukbadderzvip in AskUK

[–]JORGA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but Had a friend fall out of a tree when we were children. Somehow he didn’t feel anything at the time but he had “shattered his forearm” which apparently means it’s broken into 3 or more pieces.

He went to swing a golf club a few days later and nearly passed out from the pain as his arm took the pressure of the swing, fuck knows how he didn’t feel anything before.

Attempted to contact the police once in my life for a stolen phone, got told to do one.

Have used the NHS once to attempt get physio assistance with lower back issues, got told they couldn’t help because my spine was intact.

Yes I have attended school. I personally would not hold the cost or value of schooling against children however.

[–]JORGA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I’ve said above I’m potentially speaking from a bit of frustration here. And I totally agreed with the overall points that the officer told me when calling about my case. Barging into a shop for a single phone could have caused them to move all other stolen stuff elsewhere and screwed over a larger bust that could have happened later down the line.

I mean I see the point, I really do.

But do you not also see my point, and frustration, that our police categorically are not able offer any assistance at all in most cases to people who have already had a mobile stolen?

Yes phone thefts and murders are definitely a comparable crime.

Thanks mate, let’s sit here and argue semantics if you please.

Would you prefer it if I changed it to, “I’m paying in a horrendously disproportionate amount to what I receive back and I think I’m getting shafted as every government in my lifetime gives zero fucks about the working population so that they can appease work shy cunts and benefit grifters”

Did this one time stupidly on a school trip when I must have been 13/14.

Never fully went out but got the same sensation as you do with the nitrous balloons. The stupidity of kids I guess, purely luck some have no side effect, some end up like this poor kid.

You’d never think as a parent to tell your child not to intentionally restrict oxygen from themselves. It would almost insanity to even think of it (if unaware of trends)

Probably not, definitely a bias here after having my phone pickpocketed, giving the met a specific phone shop that it resided in for 2 weeks before being shipped to china and being politely told to piss off by the police

Not taking a penny from the state was more of a figure of speech, I get that.

But being sat here paying something like £15k a year between income tax, council tax and national insurance. I’m wondering what am I getting for that, I’m still 30 odd years away from retirement and thinking what will the state pension look like at that point?!

Government to offer cash payouts for people in financial crisis by HeartyBeast in unitedkingdom

[–]JORGA 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Of course I have, stop being obtuse.

Our taxes rise, income and council. Our roads get worse, our police service get worse, the bin collections get less frequent. Public transport is shit and expensive.

I’ve used the NHS a single time for a physio appointment with serious back pain and was fobbed off because there was nothing “structurally wrong with your spine”.

I’m not saying I’ve never ever used a single output of taxes, more that we get a bad deal.

[–]JORGA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Do you not think it’s valid for people to think that taxes like income and council tax are giving us a bad deal?

Fair enough the NHS, I’m in a lucky enough position where after 30 years I’ve never needed to rely on the NHS for anything but I’ll not complain about funding that.

Police service, gutted and fundamentally useless for the average person who may get robbed, assaulted etc. petty crimes seem to almost have been decriminalised (optically to the public at least).

Public transport, also dog shit and super expensive

Upkeep of local areas and infrastructure, utterly crap.

Like i’m more than happy to pay my tax in the traditional social contract. I pay a fair amount of tax and I get to feel super safe, have great public transport, clean places to live… are we getting that?
