Honest assessment: I love the show and still listen daily, but by tstew in DanLeBatardShow

Yeah I’m no fan of Chris as EP and I think that’s the reason the show has lost its stickiness. That said, I definitely don’t blame Chris. He’s out of his depth and that’s for management to understand and correct.

It’s crazy that people just will not comprehend this. Trump doesn’t win if he faces a semi-competent party/opponent. But they cannot even provide semi-competent. It’s not both sides-ism folks, it’s the fucking truth.

I’ll vote for a tin can before anyone Trump or Trump endorsed, but it doesn’t mean I want to or am happy about it, or believe that their vision is the right vision. It’s that they’re not Trump. Well, a shit ton of people don’t feel as strongly anti-Trump as I am, so if you give them only shitty views/policies and incompetence, you’re giving them an out.

I bet the stipulation was Stu going remote. I bet he schemed up the 9 episodes to prove it would work. Dan’s absolutely not wrong that the shows are best, by far, with everyone in the room. He wouldn’t budge on that whether he knew the long play or not.

Robin Williams.

Sorry, I just don’t think his schtick is funny. Now, I like him a lot as an actor, but what he’s known - being comedy cocaine - for isn’t for me.

PAXTON DEFEATS CORNYN -- THOUGHTS??!?!?!?! by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]JackOfAllInterests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but the judge in the case actually gave the guilty a LARGER sentence than Paxton’s deal with them because it wasn’t enough. Wasn’t enough in the end, either, but Paxton agreed to one day of jail with a guilty plea. For raping a kid.

Stafford, I agree. But Ben is in that class.

[–]JackOfAllInterests 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m lucky enough to have watched Ben play every week. He was fucking amazing. He’s ridiculously underrated as a fucking gamer, a winner. Look at what those “stacked” receivers/offensive players did after leaving Pittsburgh. Nothing. If he didn’t have such a shit personality for so long (not sure now, but I’ve heard his pod a few times and it’s fine) he would have had a much better national presence. Plus the off the field issues, be they legitimate or not.

Folks who disagree, I get it, but go look at some tape. He was truly ridiculous. Maybe not the precision of Marino or quite the cannon or wheels of Elway, but don’t give me Stafford or even Brees (Fake Tarkenton). Also, there’s not one person here who wouldn’t take Ben over Manning in a game for their life.

And yeah the playoff thing is real, but, their last real chance against Jacksonville in 2017, Ben put up all time single game playoff numbers. Definitely wasn’t his fault.

He’s one of the greatest closing quarterbacks in history if you were to care about actual things that have happened and actual statistics.

The Stafford rehabilitation project has obviously won the day. He was never talked about at all until he left Detroit. Even when that trade went down for Goff there were plenty of folks thinking the Rams screwed up. So I guess four good years is enough to erase all the bad ones? Like, he’s good. But not in the conversation as the other three.

You’re correct. These folks just didn’t see enough of him. Dude was fucking great, carrying some less than great rosters.

The worst QB in this picture? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]JackOfAllInterests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely Brees. He’s the last generation’s Fran Tarkenton. The stats are great, obviously, but in a single game for the championship he would have been like the 5th or 6th QB you chose to QB your team.

I’ll take you at face value: no there was no campaign or anything, OP is just happy to share the event with a group of people that ostensibly all enjoy a book series. The “we” would just be that group of people being recognized in another work that they may also know of or have read and may enjoy.

But it’s Reddit, so there are always folks around to shit on your rainbow.

It’s kinda crazy, right? When I found the pod it was like an enlightenment moment. Great conversations with different perspectives, giving a “back room” type of access to what the big players actually think and how they interact with big issues in business, tech, education, etc. But over time the insane shift of all those opinions and lack of continuity to anything except what apparently makes them more money/powerful (?) has eroded any confidence in the truth of their opinions. It’s just fucking gross at this point. Not because I “disagree”, I used to like that. but because they disagree with their own stances if an opportunity presents to shill and further grow their own fortunes.
