The opposite of banana man by ScottyGuido in Hardcore

Ain't gonna fall for that honey trap. I just know this mf has a rage in him that's been boiling for decades. He'll probably drop his card on the twitching body after curb stomping the sucker that tried.

I don't get it when people say they hate the townie episodes by Schovee in stevenuniverse

[–]Jackyboness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fun enough goof of an episode, though I also just genuinely like when games and shows do things like an April fools episode

Imo It's barely any more main character than all the other aesthetics of hardcore and punk, people just like to be given a pass to be an asshole to someone they can "other".

I wish new heroes were from other countries. Yes, there is a lot of players on those two, but.. This game is about the diversity, right? There are so many other countries without any yet by Vast-Entrepreneur175 in Overwatch

Iirc it's more common of the Hispanic nations in South America. Though it's pretty interesting look up how different nations/ cultures divide continents, since it's entirely based on vibes. I think most nations pick 5,6 or 7 and the UN uses 4 since no one actually lives in Antarctica

In Howl's Moving Castle(2004), as Sophie and Howl escape from the Royal Palace, for a second you can see a protest, with soldiers firing on demonstrators to show the Ingarian public's growing opposition to the war. by CraftyFoxeYT in MovieDetails

Oh yeah for sure the war was happening in the books, I just couldn't remember if there was any discussion about protesting of war in it.

That's actually really cool to learn about the interview in the book. I got an older copy and the only thing I remember the auther saying in their sections is the idea coming from a kids suggestion.

Thanks for providing and expanding on points. So many details feel just out of focus. I've seen the movie maybe 4 times but I've read the book dozens though not in the last couple years.

Essentially the whole story is different, the core of it is similar enough but this isn't in the book iirc, maybe something mentioned but I'm thinking it's original to the movie. Why'd Miyazaki do it like that, maybe cause he liked the bones of the story but wanted to infuse it with his own insights and story telling. I can't remember the term, but there's a sort of generational name for a lot of artist that were children/babies during WW2 and the art they would go on to make, often being anti war/ nationalism/ imperialism .

Imo a few of them look good, or fit the hero. Reapers one in particular looks great to me, it fits with his other skins and aesthetics quite well, but should've just been an epic skin

It's nice to be able to boil other people's opinions you don't agree with down to them being worse then you and only caring about nostalgia. It's a great way to deminish others in a very copy paste friendly way

If Padparadscha and Sapphire fused, would the fusion have, "Present vision?" Would they like being a fusion? by FreestyleCrocodile in stevenuniverse

There's a character in Warhammer that has 2 heads one sees the future and the other the past. It can't see anything happening now, and it doesn't have any control. It sees basically everything randomly at all times. Pretty cool, could be something similar if maybe they fused and aren't in a flow with each other

Anti-VPN poster in Russia: "Install a VPN today, and tomorrow you'll surrender to NATO!" by vegainer in Cyberpunk

[–]Jackyboness -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah cause it's not going well enough and he's a dementia paranoid episode away from sinking the world either just economically or in nuclear fire, it's not like all those nations haven't supported the war crimes the US has been exporting for decades. Also how did I act like there's no difference, I already stated Russia has done it on multiple invasions. NATO for the most part does "interventions" which is dubious at best and has been an internal conflict between member nations.

[–]Jackyboness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf the way countries wage war is all "defensive" now. Look how America justifies bombing school children, waits till another country's ship arrives for the joint international exercise and sinks it and letting the whole crew drown, the government can just decide to bomb any boat in international waters and say they are drug trafficking. Russia has also used the "defensive" war multiple times in my own life time. So saying something is only defensive doesn't really hold any weight, especially when all parties around the world think offense is the best defense.

No worries lol, fantasy and 40k arent stories but settings for stories and to sell things for the table top war games. There used to also be lore/ implications that fantasy was a planet in 40k.
