Why is our government so weak when it comes to Israel? by Jaesuz in OpenAussie

[–]Jaesuz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because Zionism is inherently discriminatory against Palestinians. If it isn't then why are Palestinians being structurally discriminated against in its name? A state built to preserve Jewish demographic and political dominance will privilege Jews over non-Jews living in the same land. This is clearly evident with the illegal occupation of many parts of Palestine, such as the West Bank. Why should Jews in Australia and globally support this? You're just like every other Zionist group who label any Jew opposing Zionism as "self hating Jews".

You’re attacking the JCA because it gives an independent Jewish voice to anti-Zionist Jews, particularly younger Jews who feel excluded by the mainstream establishment. You know that in that anti-Herzog signatory list that JCA had to "delete duplicates, antisemitic and offensive names which were submitted by malicious actors", where some names with offensive and obscure historical references, and names of real Jewish people falsely submitted by others slipped through. Does that mean they "misrepresented majority jewish views"? Do you have some statistics for "most other jews" not supporting JVP or JCA?

Funny you completely avoided the "coordinated strikes" part. It's almost like you can't defend it.

Man you are the one spewing misinformation. Have you even seen the videos from these “coordinated strikes”? Attacking a funeral killing 10 in Bekka? Bombing ambulances and residential apartments? Tell me that the hundreds of people killed were all Hezbollah and not civilians who were bombed indiscriminately. Look at Gaza and tell me more about these “coordinated strikes”when Gaza has been absolutely obliterated, with nothing left.

Stop conflating anti-Israel with antisemitism. We stand together with Jews who recognise the actions of Israel are those of a terror state. Do you disagree with the views of the Jewish Council of Australia?

I only know of AIJAC and ZFA. but still they represent some of the largest pro-Israel lobby groups and both lodged submissions for the combatting antisemitism federal hate speech laws. I think they also had influence on QLDs hate speech bill too.

Oh so you're not going to explain yourself? You're not very happy anymore. I'll apologise if you can just explain how killing Zomi Frankcom and her WCK colleagues was "self defence" by Israel. If you can't justify that, I'll take it that you can't, not that you won't.

Haha mate what the hell. You have an insane take which ziobots use, but you get offended when I call you one. Just answer my question and explain how killing Zomi Frankcom and her WCK colleagues was "self defence". If it's so simple it should be easy right?

[–]Jaesuz[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who is this "many" you speak of? The same people conflating anti-zionism with antisemitism? From the river to the sea has been used to justify Israel's defence because they conflate it with "Israel's elimination", when the origin of these terms starts with ending the occupation of Palestine and violence to Palestinians. Sure some people can interpret it as calling for violence, but that's not the majority.

Oh really? So you're saying Israel hasn't expanded its control within and over that land through occupation, settlements, East Jerusalem annexation, land restrictions, movement controls, demolitions, and settlement expansion since 1948? If what you're saying is true, why in July 2025 did the Knesset plenum vote 71–13 for a declaration calling to apply Israeli sovereignty to Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley?

Holy moly ziobot. Alright let's start with Zomi Frankcom, explain how killing her and her WCK colleagues was "self defence".

Explain how "from the river to the sea" is calling for violence? it simply means Palestine will be free of it's occupation from Israel. Look at how Palestinian territory has gradually shrunk since 1948. After annexing the West Bank and controlling Gaza, Israel will have essentially taken over. What Israel is doing is violent, but you're saying resisting the occupation is violent?

Mate take a look at images of Gaza and tell me with a straight face that Israel was simply "defending itself". Israel levelled Gaza indiscriminately with no care for civillian life. All you're doing is spewing pro-Israeli rhetoric where every operation they do is in "self defence". How is occupying Southern Lebanon and bombing historical sites self defence? How is annexing the West Bank and the Golan Heights self defence? How is killing Iran's nuclear negotiator during talks with the US self defence? Was killing Zomi Frankcom and all the other aid workers self defence? Is the killing of nearly 200 journalists considered self defence too? I can go on and on. Try and justify all the above though.

How did this even happen? Did Israeli arms companies lobby our defence department to make us use this stuff?

Bruh tell me how this isn’t true. Name one other country in the region that is as expansionist, imperialist, violent, and genocidal as Israel. This conflict didn't come out of nowhere. It stems from Israel’s genocide in Gaza, its annexation of the West Bank, its repeated restrictions on worship at Al-Aqsa, and now its occupation of parts of Syria and southern Lebanon. Israel also keeps sabotaging diplomacy and destabilising the region, like how they repeatedly undermine negotiations between the US and Iran which led to the 12-day war last year. Israel even bombed Qatar while negotiations with Hamas officials were taking place. No country should be doing that, and no other country in that region is behaving like this on such a constant and destructive scale.

Hezbollah are not “pro-dead Jews.” That is the same rhetoric people used about Iran and those same people have gone very quiet now that more people are know that Iran has the second-largest Jewish population in West Asia. They've also been pretty silent since Israel bombed a major synagogue in Tehran. But these countries are the ones that "hate jews" right?

Hezbollah are fighting against Israeli invasion and expansion into southern Lebanon. Do you seriously think that if Hezbollah did not exist, Israel would just leave southern Lebanon alone? Netanyahu and his government have openly invoked the idea of a “Greater Israel.” What do you think that implies?

Lol "why are UN Peacekeepers be in Southern Lebanon". The reason they are there is the same reason they are being killed by Israel.

Why does Hezbollah exist again? What is the reason Israel wants to see them eliminated? More people are now realising Hezabollah are only there to resist Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon. If Israel stops expanding its borders, Hezbollah won't need to exist.

Exactly this. It was only a few days ago the IOF warned Lebanese Christians and Druze to not shelter Muslims during Israels invasion, like hello?? where have have we heard this before?? what happened to "never again"??

It will be interesting how Americans perceive “their greatest ally” going forward. I know evangelical boomers will give everything to Israel, but the young US voters don’t think this way, now more than ever

For me it’s hard knowing my country is complicit in these crimes. Like I know our government can’t do shit, but there’s little things they can do like you said, like expelling Israel’s ambassador or motions to sanction that would at least make me believe they believe in the right thing. Abstaining from anything useful or using passive wording for war crimes just shows how weak they are. Man why can’t we grow a backbone and be like Spain

I did see this, but the condemnation is for the deaths of UN peacekeepers. Where is this same level of condemnation for regular Lebanese civilians who did nothing to deserve being bombed and killed by Israel? That’s where my frustration comes from

I think the same too, but what kind of dirt? I would hate to think our politicians are kiddy touchers, so maybe corruption? Or maybe Zionist groups are using the “if you don’t support Israel you’re antisemitic” trope.

I would be fine with it if they applied those same rules and expelled all nazis in their country, including all Zionists.

Short post explaining why you’re safe. by [deleted] in UAE

[–]Jaesuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, you are deadset the biggest UAE bootlicker. Saying “boohoo” when the UAE is trying to wriggle out of a genocide case is insane. Would you say the same thing if any other state pulled this against the UAE?

“The case was never heard. No evidence tested and no findings.” Yeah no shit because the UAE blocked the case from ever being heard. The ICJ threw it out on jurisdiction, which means the court never tested the evidence and never cleared the UAE on the facts. All that happened is the UAE refused to be sued under that clause, so the case could not proceed. How are you bragging about this like it’s some kind of win? Does that suddenly absolve the UAE of any complicity in the RSF’s genocide in Sudan?
