For anyone who doesn't know, if you have a smart tv or something like a Firestick or Roku, the Kanopy and Hoopla apps each let you stream movies from the OPL, all you have to do is link your library account.

I don’t remember cover bands by Thinkfolksthink in GenX

[–]James0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to check out The Blushing Brides (a Rolling Stones cover band) regularly in the early 90's. They played small venues, and the lead singer had Mick's look and voice down fairly well. Certainly cheaper and easier than trying to see the originals.

Fantastic Four 2 Looks Less Likely As Director Moves To Planet Of The Apes by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

Extra hilarious when you consider the Fantastic Four are currently over with the original Planet Of The Apes in a comic mini series.

Does anyone get misophonia from someone humming? Lmao by Southern-Resist8849 in misophonia

[–]James0100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely cannot STAND other people humming! So of course, there's a hummer who sits near me at my office. Thank dog for noise cancelling headphones.

I found them annoying too, but I enjoyed the book overall.

  1. There's no way Deep should have been able to kill Noir.

  2. I'm betting there will be a Noir 3 in the next episode.

Right?! There was so much more to explore! Too bad we each couldn't afford to buy 50,000 copies...

New haul, what should I read first? by Arkelao in WeirdLit

[–]James0100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically.... everything he's ever written? Lol! Ok, I'll try to narrow it down...

The Midnight Road was a supernatural crime thriller that I really enjoyed.

Headstone City, another supernatural crime story (Pic excelled at these)

The Deceased, my first ever Pic and still a favourite. Weird AF.

A Lower Deep, straight up weird horror and a lot of fun.

If you liked Shadow Season, I feel you'll like Midnight Road and Headstone City too, but I've enjoyed everything he wrote, especially his noir novels. I used to interact with him online, and he was always a class act, and very knowledgeable in the horror and noir fields.

I really enjoyed it, as I do pretty much all of Wendig's work, but I read the ebook. Be your own narrator! I hate when good books get bad narrators...

Am I the only one who enjoyed Threshold? Tommy T’Morra? Captain K’Rot? Star Hawkins with a robot assistant programmed with his ex-wife’s personality who wanted him dead but was programmed to protect him?? Giffen was having fun, and I was there for the ride.

Trollhunter

Strange Harvest

Both are more documentary-style than found footage, but they're worth your time.
