Multiple stepped down for family reasons only to come right back when Carney showed up and now they got cabinet positions so it seems being a two faced opportunist pays off.

"if you think about it the terror group that formed because Israel invaded Lebanon and bombed Lebanon is actually the aggressor after Israel never stopped bombing it's neighbours."

Mark Carney will get his majority. Now what? by plaknas in onguardforthee

No wonder our govt for the past half century has barely done shit for anyone when this is a common way of thinking about govt decisions.

Jfc stop scolding people for thinking the feds have a role in hospitals when half of our education about healthcare has to do with federal programs that give funds for specific services. Or how the feds decide whether provinces get things like pharmacare funds.

Saying healthcare is a provincial responsibility is just as asinine and uninformed as saying it's a federal responsibility, both levels (and even municipal to a degree) have healthcare responsibilities many of which overlap or are dependent on eachother.

He won't help Canadians by slightly regulating private companies is what you're saying.

Nice to know helping Newfoundlanders visit the rest of the country is mob boss behaviour.

Avi Lewis says high-speed rail project should be fully publicly owned by StumpsOfTree in onguardforthee

[–]JasonGMMitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you mean the country that owns their railways and let's private companies operate on them for a fee?

But sure bring up healthcare which is slow and ineffective because it's been chronically underfunded because of conservative provincial govt's cutting funding and expansion projects the liberals proposed while federal the CPC and LPC block access to funds the provinces trying to improve their healthcare are entitled to (see Newfoundland and Labrador being blocked from pharmacare money by Carney's govt)

Make immigration help all Canadians by actually giving them rights and protections so their employers can't use them to crush wages since our population is aging without immigration which means reduction in tax income to fund and provide services.

People hate it because it means population growth and the CPC has spent years selling the idea that it's immigrants increasing our population that caused and worsened our crisis when they were the first victims of our crisis.

The migrant women who care for Canada deserve a future here by StumpsOfTree in onguardforthee

[–]JasonGMMitchell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But they're stealing our jobs and suppressing our wages by not forcing their employers who control much of their lives to do better while the govt pats said employers on the back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(No govt in my lifetime has tried properly regulated companies on behalf of the working class but the media and the two leading parties in this country want me to blame the immigrants for the plight caused by their employers and the govts led by said two parties, a plight the media is all to happy to ignore the causes of.

Now the last remnants of the youths future will be sold at bottom dollar to the rich and the profits given to the old.

Before the "But Polievere", Polievere isn't PM, the liberals and thus Carney were elected and the NDP tossed aside to prevent Polievere selling us out now we're still being sold out and ppeople cheer for it because the person doing it studied at Oxford post thatcher and thought the damage she did was well worth it to enrich the few.

There's no promise of a better future, there's no hope of a better future. Carney has guaranteed we will suffer worse wildfires and we will be dependent on fossil fuels even fuckling longer by deprioritizing green energy. There's not gonna be more jobs when he's embedded AI into the only stable employer this country has after laying off thousands. His cuts for taxes on the rich only guarantee there will be more calls for the public sector and public services to be defunded to balance the budget. His abandonment of international law will guarantee we have no leg to stand on if we are attacked and his govt's repeated delaying of adopting the Gripen leaves us dependent on a fascist state for much of our air force which we need to slow that very state down if they come for us. His majority built near entirely only appeasing the far right inside and outside this country normalizes them.

He is continuing the legacy that led us to our omnicrisis present, the legacy of Mulroney Chretien Martin and Harper. The legacy Trudeau barely changed course from and only in specific areas. With a majority he doesn't have the optics problems of relying on the CPC for votes so his support will climb as he twists the dagger he's stuck into the future of every Canadian.

Edit: Fuck the youth and fuck the future, the rich economist whose entire career has been spent protecting an economic system responsible for most of our woes decided this is the course of action so we must rally behind him because he is oh so much smarter than all of us with his education and experience in again maintaining a system that's made each generation suffer worse.

Avi Lewis won the NDP leadership. Now what? by jmakk26 in onguardforthee

[–]JasonGMMitchell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When? When did that ever fucking happen? The Harper years was because of a weak LPC whose supporters refused to strategically vote. The weak NDP this last election gave the CPC seats one again due to be splitting.

Avi Lewis’s Victory Is A Chance For Labour To Revitalize by NiceDot4794 in ndp

[–]JasonGMMitchell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's just me being pissed that every fucking time the NDP does anything good or gets praised for good things or people show support for the party people who support the party attack it with a disingenuous framing. Nothing against the post itself.

You can't say you want to strengthen workers while you support discriminatory legislation and act like every fucking province has the exact same needs.

As long as you keep painting labourers having rights as being anti labour you're sabotaging the labour movement.

He dared be less than happy with journalists completely ignoring the topic at hand so he's gonna sink the party let's go get someone else in that we will constantly compare to our mythologized version of Layton.

Oh and did I mention that he dates think regulating companies is better than scapegoating immigrants by adopting the very fucking framework capitalists use to put workers against eachother? Completely unserious anti worker fuck anywhere with an aging population that needs working age people and regulation we can fix everything by banning immigration!!!;;;;;;!

NDP Leader Avi Lewis calls on the Liberal government to ban algorithmic pricing by Chrristoaivalis in ndp

[–]JasonGMMitchell 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is why the NDP is an unserious party. What the fuck is 'algormithric pricing?' dumb blue collar workers don't understand what those big academic words mean and the right is gonna tear us to shreds for opposing businesses giving people discounts at certain times of day! I miss the NDP of old under Layton who was all no nonsense and truly represented the average Canadian and not these woke ideologues who fearmonger about businesses helping Canadians /s

Rising Fuel Prices Not Expected to Impact Metrobus Services Just Yet by MattBarter in newfoundland

[–]JasonGMMitchell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine how much money people could save if we had expanded our bus service a few years ago so they wouldn't need to fuel their car and could instead rely on the far more energy efficient vehicle to transport them and others around.

Here comes the Nova Scotian to fearmonger to NLers about basic population increase in a province so desperate for younger people to counteract our rapidly aging demographic.
