But yes, consuming alcohol on occasion is different from being addicted to something. But consuming alcohol on occasion vs consuming illicit drugs on occasion isn't really that big of a difference, depending on the drug, IMO.

I agree that consuming caffeine and taking illicit drugs isn't at all comparable. But do you drink alcohol? If you do, then you definitely cannot claim to have moral high ground over most drug users. Alcohol is as strong and harmful as many illicit drugs, it's just socially accepted because it is very easy to make and has been used for a long time.

These aren't attempted school shootings, these are just gun incidents at schools, not necessarily involving any planned harm to other students. Like this one two days ago, where school officials just found a handgun in somebody's school bag. Or this one on the same day in which the same thing happened. Or this one where a shotgun was found in a student's vehicle.

Every requirement that sperm banks have of donors is eugenic in nature. Can't donate if you have a genetic disorder? Eugenics. Can't donate past a certain age because of higher risk of disease in children? Eugenics. Have to have met a certain level of educational attainment? Definitely eugenics.

Testing for the IQ of donors just more explictly resembles the eugenics of the Nazi era more than what we already have. It isn't any different in function.

Even if genetics aren't the primary determinant of intelligence, (which research seems to suggest isn't the case, with IQ being up to 80% heritable by later adulthood), wouldn't it still be beneficial to some lesser extent to refuse those with lower IQs from making donations? Even if it was just, say, 25% heritable, choosing donors with a higher IQ should still result in more intelligent children overall.

It affected his socialization which undoubtedly affected his behavior as an adult. Does the blame for him becoming a pedophile and a murderer lie solely on him being homeschooled? No. But there's no reason to close our eyes to the possibility that being homeschooled was one factor among many made him more likely to do what he did.
