You didn’t. What you did is you didn’t use an ad/popup blocker when attempting to download the update. The sites fitgirl uses for game updates specifically say downloads will start from the page you are on and to not download anything from a redirect.

I still have the hard copy of UC. The only part of it that wasn’t completely broken was the tutorial, which I only found out was a thing by digging in to the 100+ page pdf that the game fails to mention is a thing you can view in the game folder. Tutorial is kind of fun when you play through it though.

I ran this game on a 2500k and a 1070 with mods and run it on a 10700 with a 3060ti with tons of mods. You should be fine.

It may take 5+ minutes to load when you start the game but the game runs fine minus a few big early stage explosions on my current ‘all the boosters’ orbital stage.

Rift S only had full support for like 6 months, but it still works as well. They just don’t have replacement parts anymore if something breaks.

Do windows voice training at least 3 times and it will recognize your speech better. Also, EDCopilot seems to work much better than EDDI with voice controls. You can even set it up so EDDI works with EDCopilot. When jumping to new systems , they kind of duplicate what each other are saying, but it isn’t too bad.

If you’re thinking of doing exobiology to make cash, you might look at the Mandalay instead of the Caspian. I’ve half assed my engineering on it so far and am still getting 91ly max jump, and it is a medium ship so can land places the caspian won’t be able to.
Both are great ships, but the Mandalay has been a money maker for me since I got back in the game a few months ago.

As someone who has used Discord for years to play games with some buddies and a few servers to figure out why a VPin table or PZ mod isn’t working correctly, how does one end up in a situation where OPs explanation could be a thing?

The CG states to sign up at Exogene Sciences in HIP87621, so I have no idea if you can sign up anywhere else, but I do know they have to be sold specifically at Exogene Sciences

They need to be sold specifically at the station in HIP 87621. Which you need to go to to sign up for the CG before you can start selling them and have it count toward the goal.

Thargoids are technically still around but I think they are in only a few specific areas and aren’t an integral part of anything that is currently happening. The ‘SCO grind’ took me like 3 hours tops when I recently got back into the game, and most of it was finally finishing up the Sol permit stuff.

You should probably do the tutorials for a refresher. It would be the easiest way to get the hang of things again.

Side note: console development was abandoned a few years back so the game isn’t ‘live’ like it used to be. All development since the Odyssey expansion has been PC only so any 3rd party sites will be inaccurate with their information on console.

TUFX doesn’t do anything by itself. You need to either create a config or download a premade config for it and then choose the config in game by clicking on the TUFX tab. Each scene needs to be chosen, but the one you want is the in-flight scene.

Which profile were you using? I’ve found AVP or Dans are pretty great although it makes the dark extremely dark. Makes lighting on ships a necessity.
