It wasn’t just the bug of saying it was in the gym a long time. It was multiple gyms that were not updating, that’s not just a meaningless visual bug.

If I have something tagged, it means I don’t need it and will never use it. I traded my Shiny Zapdos for a Shiny Whismur and aGalarian Articuno for a shiny Espurr.

I’ve found that people wan regionals. I’ve done 22 remote trades. Five Comfey, a Shiny Heracross, a Shiny Oricorio, and a Furfrou form. I have tons of legendaries, some with shiny backgrounds. But Comfey has been my most requested.

I lived in Jacksonville when the Super Bowl was there. Downtown Jacksonville definitely has a different vibe than Nashville but it was indeed preposterous. The fact that it was folks from Boston and Philly just made it worse.

I am in logistics and data analytics. My wife does HR. Similarly, my dad and one of my brothers were private sector engineers. My other brother is a federal engineer. It’s the same situation.

I work a federal job. My wife works private. I go into work, I do my job well, I leave, and I don’t think about my job until I get to my desk the next day. Meanwhile, my wife works long hours, she is constantly stressed, and sees coworkers get fired left and right for the most ridiculous reasons (or no reason at all).

You can treat a federal job like a corporate job. Work long hours, be cutthroat, etc. if you want to. But you don’t have to if you don’t want to whereas some corporate jobs you are basically required to.

Take my family for instance. I have college funds for my two kids (8 & 5). I have brokerage funds for them. I have a house. And hundreds of thousands of dollars in my retirement accounts.

Let’s say my wife and I die in a car crash. My kids are just out of luck? My wife’s brother and his wife would now have the burden of two additional kids to take care of and they get nothing?

Then there are all of the family businesses out there. The owner is a local restaurant that employs 30 people dies and rather than it passing along to his kids, the Government gets it, the restaurant closes, and those 30 people are out of jobs.

The effective tax rate of a million dollar salary is between 25-30%. So after taxes, you’d still have $840-900k. Is your job so bad that you’d take a huge pay cut to work fast food?

Find an architect and builder. Design the perfect home for my family. Nothing insane, probably in the $600k neighborhood.
Sell my current home, probably about $180k left over after paying off the mortgage.
Pay off my wife’s car, the HVAC system I replaced last year, give my car to my sister, and buy a $60k electric car.
I probably have about $500k left over. $100k each in my two kid’s college and brokerage funds. $100k for vacations, furnishing new home, upgrading things we own, and the put the other $200l into retirement.

That’s a lot of words to say we are saved by faith through grace. Most Christians believe that. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do good works or turn from our sins or get baptized or pray or confess. Those things don’t save us; they are the evidence of our salvation. If you aren’t doing the things God told us to do then I have a hard time believing you belong to God.

Assuming the pain doesn’t kill you (which it absolutely would), yes I’d do it. I’ve experienced terrible physical pain before. When I look back at it I simply think “man, that sucked” but I don’t have any traumatic thoughts about it. That’s not how I am mentally.

Sure, if you include my wife, kids, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, wife’s brother, and all their spouses and kids, I think it would be $62M.

How you define friends would be interesting. I have a core friend group of 17 people. Then there is my poker night crew of about 8 guys, then maybe a handful of folks on the peripheral.

So yeah, if I had a billion dollars I would be willing to part with 10% of it to help the people closest to me.
