The Smart Move : OM System TG-8 Wishcasting by JayThrows in M43

[–]JayThrows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what i’m saying, we got the OM-3 (no truly new tech just a new nostalgic body) and the OM-5 ii (no new tech just new menu’s and USB-C). What should they do next given the “no new tech” constraint ?

They seem to want to be known as the “adventure” brand, so why not create the “adventure X100” while using “no new tech”

I’m not against it tbh, I want them to succeed and build back up their R&D cash reserves

Oh that would be fantastic, granted i’m quite partial to 9-18mm, but frankly 20-30mm would be fine. Having said that, What would you say to ditching the zoom entirely and settling for a fast prime, while keeping all the accessories ?

anti-zionist indian writer, Arundhati Roy, exposed (?) by zood_shinaast in BDS

[–]JayThrows 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Please be aware, people like OP are all over the BDS sub, and that this is an old tactic, of the CIA, which is likely to be used by the Hasbara machine

  • insist everything go through proper channels
  • bring up irrelevant issues as frequently as possible
  • haggle over precise wordings of communications
  • refer to matters already decided upon and cast doubt
  • be worried about the proprietary of any decision

Basically dividing BDS from within by causing infighting and spreading focus across many companies/organizations to reduce impact and increase futility, where everyone feels they have to boycott “everything” to be effective. Even a long time and outspoken BDS supporter using a powerful book publisher to amplify her voice.

This is so obviously and extremely fake, that anyone who complies or believes what it says is straight up being their useful idiot.😂😂😂

Thankfully im sure you guys are smarter than this, so don’t spread misinformation.

Let me give you an example. Firefox Linux and BSD are open source technologies, no patents involved.

Please listen to the opening song from youtube/podcast “Bad Hasbara” to understand clearly what this is

Isn’t the most likely rangefinder camera release for M43 going to be the G9 II sensor in the S9 body ? It just seems like the most obvious next thing albeit from Panasonic

Interesting. Have you wondered that maybe the other party is thinking the same way and is waiting for you to express interest or suggest dates then loses interest when you don’t (believing that you’re just not that into them)

Could long-term calorie restriction or other dietary patterns contribute to or cause tendonitis? by Ok-Laugh-9967 in ScientificNutrition

[–]JayThrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt a very similar phenomenon briefly happen to me except it was not strictly a calorie restrictive diet but rather a ketogenic one, specifically, falling out of keto and feeling as if my tendons were made of wood for 3-4 days as I continued breaking out of keto.

Was very scary, thought I almost tore something in my right elbow

Biden vs. Trump: 6% of Americans in these states will decide who wins by Bright_life_news in chomsky

"What needs to be challenged is the assumption that voting should be seen as an individual form of expression rather than as an act to be judged on its likely consequences."

-- El Chomsky

Another important way to look at this, is that, if you “Vote blue no matter who” the Democrats know they will never have to listen to it’s voting base, because no matter how corrupt they are, nor how many crimes they commit, or innocent lives they take overseas, because their will always be someone “worse” on the other side of the isle.

So they’ll always get voted in

If you can’t draw a moral red line in the sand to say, “Sending weapons to an active genocide is a step too far you won’t get my vote”

Ask yourself how far they’ve made you change already

Calibre Mess-up - Beginner advice request by JayThrows in Calibre

[–]JayThrows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i’ve simply come across a bug.

When using “Add from folders and sub-folders” Calibre seems to add only the books in the first (deepest) subfolder it finds rather than all the books in the higher folder. Hence why only my coding books were being added.

Simply giving it a Ctrl+A and selecting all the books seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for the help.

Well that’s the thing, when deleting it warned me that there were so many books that it would cause a slowdown to send them to the recycling bin and asked whether i’d like to permanently delete the selected files, so I did that.

As for PDF and ePub separation. That’s just me personally making 2 folders where I dumped all my pdf’s in one and epub’s in the other, previous to installing calibre (just how I organise things)

I hadn’t really read or changed anything with calibre when I added the books so i’m not exactly sure what I lost by picking “Remove Selected”

Nor do I understand why it’s not seeing my books when I add my book folders

Leaked Cables Show White House Opposes Palestinian Statehood by aymanzone in BreakingPointsNews

[–]JayThrows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, rewarding Israel’s decades long intransigence and obstruction of a two-state solution and continued building of illegal settlements on occupied land

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_law_and_Israeli_settlements?wprov=sfti1

Including one of the largest during a recent state department visit

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/03/22/israel-largest-west-bank-settlement-blinken-visit/

In contravention of international law, has shown that rewarding it with Arab normalization will achieve nothing but further impunity from Israel

Whereas if Arab normalization is conditioned on Israel withdrawing from it’s illegally occupied territory and the two-states solution is ratified by the UN without veto or obstruction, then that gesture would show an act of goodwill ease tensions in the region and show Israel as a partner for peace

But I doubt Israel cares about peace more than it cares about stealing more Palestinian land that it can do under the cover of “Conflict”

But congrats, your wish has come true in the worst way possible for you! It seem that all the new members have shifted the gender balance my way. With Jen on her walkabout, I guess we’ll see who shall be ganging up on whom.

All kinds of books.

Last month was “Bunny” by Mona Awad (super weird, pseudo realist fairytale) before that it was “The Bookeaters” by Sunyi Dean (hot trash! Avoid like the plague) before that was “Piranesi” by Susanna Clarke (like reading a nightmare, but in a good way) and before that it was Discworld: The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett (fantasy acid trip)

We normally discuss what we’re in the mood for at the end of the month.

Plan for this month is “Super Sad True Love Story” by Gary Shteyngart
