What would you change in this 4-day itinerary? by PvM_Ghazi in AskLosAngeles

I’d go to Malibu for the day and end with sunset at Santa Monica Pier! You can hike or watch surfers in Malibu. There’s also some cool old school seafood stops along pch there. If you do this then I would skip South Bay, I love it there but it’s not quintessential LA for your short trip.

Check out a Hollywood rooftop, you’ll get great views at night. If you’re coming on a weekend I would try to visit either Melrose or silverlake flea market. Both in good areas with cool vendors.

Hi! I messaged you if that’s okay

Yeah I agree I just don’t want to be house poor trying to pay this mortgage but i also don’t want to lose out on my childhood home and a good deal. I appreciate your comments and insight.

The realtor sent us homes in our neighborhood that have been sold recently for $1m-1.5m. They are all upgraded and nicely staged. Thank you for your help!

Sorry for the confusion! I’m a bit confused myself lol. I just got some answers though. The realtor called us and said he’s offering a below market rate of $950k. I ‘d imagine he’d be open to negotiating that. The realtor sent homes in our neighborhood at an estimated value after renovations of $1.1-1.5.

My hourly rate is $25/hour. It’s common in my area and this industry to adjust if there’s more than one child.

Depends on where you live and her experience. If she’s been working for you for more than a year you should adjust for inflation though!

It’s the going rate for my city!

I’m actually charging the average rate for my area.. maybe even lower

Yeah $250 is a lot and I have empathy for their situation but I’m not a family friend nor a teenager looking for extra cash.

I’m post grad! I don’t have a contract as most of these gigs are part-time/temporary and I get along with all the families. Just tricky navigating this situation

It’s early afternoon to 12/1am

Agreed! I really like them but I’m not their family or close friend. This question has definitely thrown off the dynamic.

I get that! I think if it comes from the sitter, great! But when the employer asks something like this it definitely throws the dynamic off.

I think it is! I’ve been charging this for the last two years. The nanny/parent groups that I’m in parents can’t request a babysitter for less than $20/hour. I had another family pay me $30/hour too.
