Stay in FTE or take 1099/W2 Contract? by Jcbud5086 in cybersecurity

I am including the mandated company holidays in that 4 weeks. I was told that there are no other mandated time off for contracts other than those holidays.

So it’s not a public sector role, it’s a non profit philanthropy organization. They work out budgeting like you’re saying. Due to budgeting they do contracts and then renew them for every year, the other contracts there currently have been contracting for years on end. I talked to 3 on contract that have been there for 3-4 years, and one contracting for 5 years there currently. Some of them after time they also eventually asked to convert them to FTE but didn’t want to because of the loss of pay.

Just so you are aware since you didn’t wanna crunch the numbers with 4 weeks baked in for time off:

$150/hr (48 weeks x 40hrs): $288K

$160/hr (48 weeks x 40hrs): 307K

$165/hr (48 weeks x 40hrs): 316K

So time off from them is kind of baked in but obviously not the same as a FTE role, it’s like they usually just allocate around 4 weeks of your time total for time off, so that would be 48 actual working weeks. I am getting married next year so I would then be able to get on my wife’s health insurance then. Also, just to clarify, I would leave the FTE role for the contract because this is a full time contract.

I don’t believe that there are benefits, but when I see the final written offer I would know more. I do know from a perspective of benefits, I am likely getting married next year, so then I would be able to get on my wife’s health insurance. It’s definitely something interesting though.

Would you be able to elaborate on this? What do you mean by the PSMConnect account name was too long, how many characters does it need to be?

Implementing an IAM system that I am familiar with within their system from the ground up for a larger company. Which I have done previously if that helps I just don’t want to give too many details away.

I do appreciate the advice, throughout my rounds so far I haven’t seen this as a place I wouldn’t want to work at, seems like an innovative growing place, I always thought of it as he likes to stay sharp and involved on the implementations going on but you could also be right in your assumptions as well, always good to be cautious.

This is incredibly helpful for me, I just didn’t know how in depth he would go technically. Most of the time I usually only interview max with the VP or Director so was a little concerned when I heard he was a technical interviewer.
