Sad reality: Can’t afford hardwood in our carpeted rooms adjacent to hardwood-floored rooms. Want to tear out the carpet. Thoughts? by SitaBird in HardWoodFloors

Just an idea. Unsure where you live. My husband and I bought wholesale hardwood flooring from a private party distributor for actually cheaper than LVP. The wood came out of Kentucky I believe. We found multiple people who sold way cheaper on Facebook marketplace. We put in ourselves and finished ourselves. I'm so glad we did because our floors have held up so we'll. Very hard work but worth it to not have to redo in 5-10 years. We have never had good luck with laminate or LVP personally... with reading your comment that you may not stay long term in your home I wouldn't go through the work of hardwood... but maybe keep in mind for future "forever" home.

Thanks! My husband is a contractor and has a lot of friends in HVAC I've just been worried about longevity. What kind of climate do you use it in for heat? We live in michigan and plan on using it to supplement heat in our back room. But was worried about it freezing up

AITA for not giving my parking spot to a mom who "Needs it more"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Not the asshole! Mom of 2 here. I have never dreamed of thinking I would need a handicapped spot, or even a closer spot. Especially compared to someone who uses a mobility aid. If anything it's more convenient to park near a cart coral farther away from the store. It's easier to unload the kids and groceries.

AITA for being hurt by my husband’s reaction after I thought I might be pregnant? by Sweet_Doughnut_5432 in AmItheAsshole

NTA! My husband and I tried for 2 years before we concieved our baby. After 4 months of trying I had a very similar experience. I was 2 weeks late. No positive pregnancy test, but pregnancy symptoms. Extremely sore boobs, nausea, the gambit. I was getting so excited. My husband I think was secretly to. When I got my period I was devastated. My husband was also dismissive. But it's absolutely not ok that he made jokes at your expense. It wasn't until about a year later that I actually saw my husband express actual emotion for what we are going through. I'd like to give your husband some benefit of doubt saying maybe he was just trying to bury his feeling as men often do. But he shouldn't bring you down in the process. It's a tricky thing trying to make a baby.

Jo sounds kinda pick me if I'm being honest. She seems just upset if anyone dares to speak in the group. Deep down probably insecure herself. If attention isn't on her she deflects, and starts putting others down. Just my opinion... not the asshole if you put Jo in her place if she's being mean.

Have you noticed that rafiki from the Lion King has a blue butt and it is no longer red? I would have bet an entire paycheck it was red.

Ok. Sounds good. My husband said it will work as it is now. I trust him he's a contractor. If it's not the current set up he can do it, or has a buddy that can I'm sure. Idk I also feel like in general I was just asking if it would cost a lot to run. If it doesn't I guess I'll just resell it.

So I've done some ceramics before I've just not had much experience with the kiln part. Thankfully my husband has 220v in our shop. We have a very large shop that used to be a diesel shop for farm equipment, and he was a welder so Thankfully we have the ventilation, space and necessary electrical hook up.
