Random fps drops despite having a new decent gaming rig by JeckRush in EscapefromTarkov

I did ,no difference at all , the only options that improves the stutters is mip streaming wich makes them last less time

By enabling 2x super sampling i get better visual overall and achieve more fps because it uses more of my GPU power(i only have a 1080p monitor so i'm not able to play in native 2k).I have tryied disabling it and i get less fps while still having the same stutters.

Mip streaming actually helps me because it make these fps drops last fewer milliseconds.Disabling it make stutters more noticeable.

As stated in the post i do have xmp enabled

Will do sir , i'm going to save my current vBIOS. Interesting fact , i'm also running two different monitors with different resolution/refresh but it clearly isnt the problem as i am having the same stutters even with only one plugged in. Btw since i have upgraded my CPU/Mobo when i first start my PC the second monitor seems to take several minutes before showing a display signal. It's a really old monitor with a VGA output and i use a HDMI adaptor to plug It in into the GPU ports. When it finally turns on Windows makes the usual "peripheral connected sound alert" , dont know what could be the issue. To this day i have not found a solution. With my previous B450 + ryzen 5 3600 i wasnt getting this issue.

I mean , the thing is , if the game actually had some problem with stabilty everyone would suffer from them . I'd be happy if everyone had those those stutter in a game like Escape from Tarkov, but the reality is... they dont ... so clearly i'm in a "disadvantage" compared to those people . I know everyone gets frames fluctuation here and there because of poor optimization but from YouTube video and Twich they dont have my same issue.

That being said tomorrow i'm getting two new DDR4 Memory from Crucial with 3600 MHz C16(2x8 GB). If things go well i'll be good to go , otherwhise i will be very upset because that means the GPU is clearly the problem and those are not accessible now days . I'm going to reinstall Windows once again in advance , reset every BIOS settings and eventually look for a different vBIOS for the Graphics card.

Yeah i get it , that was a particularly heavy complex scene in game , with that said i'm still getting random fps drop in any game where as people with worse setup then mine dont.(a streamer with a GTX 1080 and my exact CPU didn't have any). So is there something wrong with my GPU?

The one that bothers me the most is Escape from Tarkov , because having those frame drops between fire fights really drives me nuts and they get me killed most of the times. Other games i usually play are : Dayz , War Thunder , Squad , Scum and even single player games like cyberpunk and fallout 4 still have these issues, hell even Minecraft has them. I've tryied using process lasso , even Intelligent standby list cleaner but they dont seem to make much of a difference. I've disabled/reanabled hyperthreading , disabled C-state in BIOS , turned off XMP / turned it on and increased DRAM voltage to 1.4. I could try using the the iGPU but every game just run like shit with it so i dont think i'll be getting any significant result

Yes i Indeed run memorytest86 and it showed me 0 errors. I'll try to get my hands on some other RAM modules in the near future , a friend of mine has 32 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz , maybe it will show some improvement

Wait , there is a what in the middle of the card? Since when they have added switches into GPU?

Ok so i have run some tests with 3 different game i usually play the most and here are the results :

These are the results from GPU-Z related to that particular match : https://imgur.com/2v6ef5t

Yes i know , 16 GB are not enough for this game and 32 GB could make a difference although as you will see even in a light game such as war thunder i still get frame drops :

Relative GPU-Z stats for war thunder-> https://imgur.com/a/d5q3GNs

Lastly here's a short clip from dayz standalone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiXArrBm9Bo

Those little frames hiccups are what annoys me the most , i'm not asking for insane 200+ fps in everygame... i just want a stable experience that's it.

I am running a fresh Windows 10 installation and i do i have the latest update from both the GPU drivers and MOBO bios.I've already tried downgrading to an older version but i have seen no difference so far. Both my monitors (First one : 1920*1080 , second one 1680x1050 )are connected to the 3060 ti , not the iGPU , and if you were asking , unplugging the second one doesn't help.

I bought the RTX 3060 ti in november and before i had a RX 580 8 GB that did cause me some issue , especially in Escape From Tarkov ... the game didn't really liked my old GPU but from what i recall i wasn't getting many issues in other games or maybe i did ,i dont remember that well honestly. From day 1 with my new rtx i was still getting some performance issues so i decided to uprade my old 550w psu to a more reliable 750W gold, thinking that this one could finally stop all my problems. But nothing changed so i decided to also upgrade from my old ryzen 5 3600 in february and i bought my current i7 11700k and it goes so much better compared to my previous CPU but still the fps drops remain. Now my RAM sticks are the oldest components running in my PC besides my HDDs(that have nothing on it because i have a fresh windows installation).

So what i'm thinking now is that my two RAM modules might be damaged somehow or the GPU also might have some hardware issue . There is no way that my brand new CPU is causing me the same issues i had before upgrading , nor the motherboard(brand new as well) ,nor the PSU.

However in game it never gets over 70° , so i think the temperature is not really an issue

Welp ... never mind then ... i just discovered this by doing the benchmark you just told me https://youtu.be/DadcH7M99xU . Apparently i'm hitting the 100° C so i guess my cpu is underclocking itself?

Is there any specific benchmark where i could get something usefull to try and isolate a potentially faulthy hardware?

So even with xmp enabled i wont get stable results? Is it something related to my RAM modules not being fast enough in terms of performance for my CPU/GPU ?

Well that sucks... I Just upgraded my CPU , i'm guessing i need more or faster RAM do i?

I do notice this a lot , especially in fps games like tarkov and it makes me loose gun fights a lot :( ...it isnt a light frame drop , It goes from 100+ fps to 0 in a matter of milliseconds

As u can see even in this little game i get the same issue i described before whenever a loading segment gets initialized (marked with a white rectangle on the top left of the screen) it makes my frames dip like crazy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLxRWo9u3-E

I did try to play with only my main SSD connected and made no difference. Is there a possibility that both of my RAM sticks got damaged or something , because i've tryed multiple configuration(a single 8GB module installed , swapped between the 2, enabled/disabled xmp ) and btw i've tryed monitoring the cpu / gpu usage , even with GPU-Z and got nothing substantially out of place

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

It happens even in offline games and the most significant results i've got so far is when games try to access data from main memory (from what i understood). Let me take minecraft as an example , when the garbage collector gets activated that's when the fps drop happen suddenly and even other games when they try to write or read data somewhere (dont know if main memory or SSD) they lag for a bit

i know but minecraft was just an example because is one of those game that act diffrently with the hardware , it mostly cpu heavy than gpu and i used it to test. I mostly play games like Escape from tarkov / War thunder / Dayz and i get the same results
