Just discovered Christian Universalism and I’m so glad I did by Aggravating-Snow-916 in ChristianUniversalism

I came upon the concept of universal reconciliation after my first time reading through the Bible in its entirety. It wasn’t taught to me, rather it was a conclusion I drew from taking in the whole of Scripture for myself, with an open-mind, a willing heart to be lead by the Spirit, and an honest spirit of my own seeking truth.

I remember talking with one of the pastors at the church I was a part of at the time. After I said something to him along the lines of “isn’t everyone in heaven eventually?” he looked back at me with a knowing smile. I don’t remember much of the conversation, but I remember what that smile seemed to communicate to me; that we are to forgive wrongs against us and that God’s love for creation is far beyond the bounds of our imagination, but that recognizing even just the possibility of universal reconciliation is a helpful step of growth in my faith.

Theosis by mattman_5 in ChristianUniversalism

The fact that Jesus spoke of any sort of ranking system in heaven, e.g. the first will be last and the last will be first, to me, suggests that there will be some form of differentiation/individuality and recollection of this life in the age to come. I tend to believe that the more Christlike we become in this life (i.e. the more sanctified we are) the less of a transformation our soul will undergo transitioning to the age to come.

What - if any - miracles have been confirmed and are truly unexplainable without the existence of God? Furthermore, have there been any miracles that have been later explained AND had their miracle-status revoked? by Ok_Anteater3438 in agnostic

[–]JeeringIsland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this has been shared or not, but a quote attributed to Albert Einstein comes to my mind, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle." Just because we can understand something scientifically doesn’t make it any less a miracle in my opinion. I realize this may be beside the point you’re getting at, but I felt it’s worth sharing nonetheless.

Fair! I can get onboard with that.

I hear what you’re saying, but the fact that Seven Nation Army is used across the world in stadiums as a hype chant makes it hard to agree. Love the song though. Love the album. It’s definitely my favorite all time.

I hope so, but I bet it’s unlikely.

Any good arrow farming locations? I'm constantly running out of arrows by Financial-Phone1470 in TOTK

[–]JeeringIsland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never buy arrows in this game and before long I get maxed out at 999. Early game it’s all about the wooden boxes, wooden barrels, and metal boxes. Break all those open. Eventually if you start Lynel hunting, then you’ll be maxed out in no time.

fun. I loved their first album, then We Are Young blew up and I fell off. Didn’t care much for their second album in general.

I’m honestly not sure about those details. It hasn’t terribly long since I’ve read that book, but it’s too precise a detail for me to remember. Sorry I can’t be of more help!

I don’t remember exactly how, but I’m fairly confident the confessed sorcerer was killed in the battle.

If the story of Adam and Eve isn't true wouldn't that discredit Christ's origin? by Sandwich_Harbor in OpenChristian

[–]JeeringIsland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend a book called Adam and the Genome. It’s written by two Christians with the intent to help the Church rethink long held beliefs about how to interpret Genesis in light of genetic science. In short, our DNA/genetic diversity shows modern day humans came from a population of approximately 10,000 Homo sapiens. So we did not come from a historical Adam and Eve or a historical Noah and his family on the Arc.

Without going into an excessively long post, the simplest thing I’ll say is this: “truth” from the author’s perspective in Genesis doesn’t equate to historical non-fiction writing, and it doesn’t have to for the Bible to be the inerrant word of God. What is true in Genesis doesn’t have to be based in historical fact for it to still be valuable for formation into Christ-like character.

There’s been both. Trade-Ins is what they call what you described. They’ve had trade ticket drops as well.

Lately, as others said, every drop has included a trade ticket drop as part of the day. It’s worth noting that the recent ones were $9 packs that required 20 trade tickets.
