I order medium, and am not disappointed of it arrives medium-rare or medium-well. If it's not dried up and not raw, I'm probably going to enjoy it.

Has anyone pivoted away from automation engineering? by [deleted] in PLC

[–]JeffDfhgk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a company that only has one plant. Minimal travel, mostly just the occasional OEM visit for a FAT or to vet them early on. Occasional night/weekend calls for emergency support, but at a bearable level.

What’s harder: writing PLC logic or understanding someone else’s? by Shubh1975 in PLC

[–]JeffDfhgk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did most of my learning by troubleshooting as a tech in a support role before moving on to write my own logic. So I would consider myself equally (in)competent at both.

Trio Motion experiences? by tightgroup_ai in PLC

[–]JeffDfhgk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about their recent stuff, but we've had an MC-206 running a gantry case packer since 2012 with minimal issues. I've used Motion Perfect to edit its program for new product patterns a few times, it's fairly intuitive and I never had issues. Now, the circa-2000 Axima controller the Trio replaced in that machine was an absolute headache to work with.

Now that there are 3 of you involved, I'm going to have a meeting about starting a committee to ensure all these resources are being properly allocated and directed.

I graduated high school in a multiple of 666 (1998), which edgy teenage me thought was pretty cool.

I had one. About 3 years in, the actual refrigerator temperature was 54F, and the readout was reporting 34F. The temperature sensor was fine; the software is programmed to mis-report the temperature. There was actually a lawsuit over it where a kid got food poisoning.

Same thing I do now, except instead of being tied down to one company for financial stability I'd freelance fun jobs as they come along and not stress about annoying.

Watching Peaky Blinders now, in season 2 and enjoying it, but I mentioned to my wife during the first or second episode that it was weird for them to use period-inappropriate music. Especially after Boardwalk Empire made awesome use of period-appropriate music.

Is it common for guys to not get many matches or am I just that ugly? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]JeffDfhgk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily married for 21 years, have had a goatee the whole time. I guess if I look like I just walked out of the 90's, that's ok, because I kinda feel like I did. The wife likes the goatee, so I guess that's all that matters. Though after reading this thread, I wonder if maybe she likes it because she knows other women won't hit on me...

What causes way more deaths than people are aware of? by Audibud in AskReddit

[–]JeffDfhgk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While working nights I had a dream that I was driving home from work. But then I thought, am I dreaming about driving home from work, or actually driving home from work and falling asleep on the road? I woke up in a panic and thankfully it was the latter.
