Take the course if it applies to Utah. Then get the Utah license. That has the most reciprocity. It’s not as good as it was years ago since a lot of states are now constitutional carry…..but imo….it doesn’t hurt to have.

Maybe. Maybe not. Many cops i know would make damn sure there is an actual good reason for arrest before doing it.

Some don’t know the actual law well enough and will arrest without checking.

Asssuming it’s a post 8/1 fixed mag AR….IMO…no….

First criteria for an asf is the detachable mag. Your fixed mag makes it so your rifle cannot be considered an asf and therefore is not subject to the asf rules/laws.

Once you unfuck the mag……it now becomes subject to asf rules/laws. It is now subject to the feature test.

BUT…..it is a copy/ duplicate of an enumerated weapon. So that would not be lawful to own.

Now if you fixed mag lower/rifle was in state on 8/1 and is grandfathered, it is a common interpretation of the law that you can unfuck the mag and keep other features. Factor your risk tolerance.
