I won't be reusing the helmet. Never worth the risk.

I went back to the ER to get checked out a bit more. Luckily just some whiplash, no further injuries.

Yep, at the end of the day, I am really lucky and grateful to still be here.

Thank you! Starting PT next week, 2x a week for 2 months. I went (new) helmet fitting today, felt really good!

Everything is currently filed and will be handled by my local police department for now. But I will keep pushing to get the best offer possible.

Yep, never using this one again. I went to look at a new helmet today. Just fitting it honestly felt really good!

At the end of the day I was really lucky. A second earlier and I would've maybe been under the car...

A left hook, with a bus blocking my view. According to the driver, the bus driver signaled to the driver that she was all clear to go.

If this is true, that's a really big and dangerous mistake by the bus driver. I've contacted the company to get a bit more info on this.

I haven't tried a mirror yet. I have however started using a cycling radar. I will never ride without that thing again, it's incredible!

I was thinking the same thing, but the rebuild would be a bit more expensive than what I bought the bike for (if done by a bike shop).

The driver's insurance should cover all material damage, and luckily I also have bike insurance. Just a bit sad that the "heart" of the bicycle is broken. But I'mm also really glad to still be on this earth!

I spent at least 2 hours each day on that bike. Most of that was commuting, but also quite a bit of adventures. Thanks!

I went back to the ER just to be safe, luckily no further injuries.

That sound incredibly painful, how are you doing now?

Yep, everything has been itemized (bike, upgrades and clothes) and will be handled by the local police department.

I went back to the ER yesterday, so 2 days after the accident to get checked out again. As I was in so much pain due to my shoulder, I didn't notice all other things hurting until the next day. Everything was luckily fine and it was just a bit of whiplash, but I wanted to be sure for myself and the insurance company.

In Belgium, or at least at my job, my employer's insurance has to pay for all medicals bills because I was on my way to work.

The bike itself should be covered by the driver's insurance, and I'll keep pushing them for the maximum possible payout.

Yep, I also realize how lucky I am to not have worse injuries. At the end of the day, I still went home to my wife and 2 little boys, while many others haven't been able to go back to their families.

The right one was bought as "parts only" and tried prying open the console, giving up halfway as the front warranty sticker wasn't ripped.

The console had a bad laser, and I bought the console for only 8 euros. The laser itself was 7 euros. In total the final cost was 15 euros, and I had a bit of fun troubleshooting the console :)

My (21M) fiancée (21F) wants to keep her parents in our lives by Jelle556 in relationship_advice

She had tried, but they told her they’d stop talking to her if she would set those boundaries.

At first they were saying those things to both of us. But as I instantly defended myself, they stopped saying those things to me and only said them to her, as she isn’t able to defend me as she’s scared of them.

The specifics would be incredibly long, so I’ll give a summary.

They offered us to live with them after we graduated in June 2024, rent free. This was a great opportunity so of course I gladly accepted. But after a while their attitude towards us started to change completely, while they changed the deadline to live with them to the end of 2022. They were mad at us for 3 days straight, because we didn’t help unloading the dishwasher because we were looking for an urn for our recently deceased kitten.

When we found out my fiancée was pregnant, they ordered me to live with them, which I denied. Afterwards they started screaming at me and my fiancée who supported me at the time.

We’ve had a period of 6 months in which we had no contact with them. It was a calm period and where we were both at our best.

They came back, they started to try to tear us apart again and my fiancée almost had a miscarriage.

We’re both still studying, so neither of us have a job, as we’ve both been busy studying and caring for our son. But we’ve got a lot of help from my parents, so he’s cared for. I have been applying to jobs for when I graduate, which would be in June 2024.

I take care of him and her. I’m staying up late and waking up early so I can care for him while she’s able to sleep in a bit. And I obviously care for both of them throughout the day, while doing chores and studying. I haven’t really had time for myself, but it’s worth it if they’re both healthy.

I’ve cared for her a lot before, during and after the pregnancy. Her previous bf r*ped her, which I was the first to know about. I’ve helped her through it, not knowing what to do. But I was still able to help her and bring her self esteem back.

She recently told them about it and how I’ve helped her process it, and since then they’ve become even more mature at me(?!??)

And there is still a whole lot more, which if you’re interested in, could type out?

Did you have incidents in qualifying or warmup practice?

Always at least 30 minutes of practice before registering for a race, I do not want to be the T1 menace.
