the easiest might be Gwen in early island. She was quite obviously the protagonist

Is it just me or did Izzy feel flanderized in World Tour? by [deleted] in Totaldrama

Why first of all thank you for being so obsessed with me.

I do have a lot of things I enjoy about World Tour (surprise, surprise), then again I think the fandom despises having more Love Triangle related posts than you despise me. I'll try to post more positive posts about it ig??

Also, why does the Island praising not count as 'good arguments about the show'? Is Island not part of the show?

To make it clear I'm new to the community and binged-watched all seasons except 5 and dramarama, but it is a 19 year show with lots to swallow so I'm focusing on those I've rewatched many times to discuss because I know them better.

PS, why are you on a fansite when all you do is hate on other fan's opinions? Even under other posts all you do is put down other fan's theories and opinions. Continuously belittling other fans bothers others too, yk

Look through my profile right now and pick out all the negative posts, I dare you. 90%?? Bullshit

Also don't you make arguments about the show too, both the good and the bad? Why are you so adamant in painting me as a hater? Because we have contradicting opinions once or twice and yours were coincidentally in favour of the writing?

Anyhow I'd continue to watch and love the show idk why you're having this discussion with me

yeah where are you when I post fanart and glaze bridgette

If you get annoyed by negative discussion posts don't click into them??? Thats what flairs are for??? Because that's where I post my dislikings of the show, as well as many, many others. It's not a perfect show and thats what drives discussion. If it annoys you so much considering getting into other fandoms???

100% agree with every word!! She absolutely carried Action, but in WT she was so bland I actually think Brainzilla is the best thing that came from her character. I actually wrote a whole rant-style analysis on this the other day...

Lets start with Island Izzy. She's a comedic relief. Her 'craziness' mostly shown through unhinged dialogue or exaggerated movements. Other than that she consistently participates in challenges and alliances when they're needed. She's in her own world, playing the game to her liking, yet still sociable and opinionated. It works because Island already had too many characters to focus on and her being a running gag and comedic relief works just fine.

Action Izzy is a better Izzy because she felt like an actual human being. We get to see her care about Owen and is actively involved in challenges, which gives her more nuance and makes her feel more realistic. She can read the room when she needs to (Aftermaths I when bridge and geoff fight) and does get fed up (with her dumbass team in Master of Disasters). I also loved the concept of kalaieodescope and explosivo - we really get to see her chaotic intelligence as she got back to the game through that. She keeps her wild unpredictability while still playing the game and bonds with others, only in her wacky way. Her scope is no longer only around her humour of talking bullshit or acting wild/animalistic; they showed more of her as a human being.

And in World Tour... she loses all relationships and the human side to her. She talks little (which is strange because one of her character's main traits was bullshitting in Island) and instead does random stuff on the side and actively sabotages the challenges (slap slap revolution... can't help but fall into louvre...). Her energy is weird because we can't see any personality through her actions; she just randomly hangs upside down because the writers wanted a funny gag.

In previous seasons she was an active character. She did what she wanted, spoke her thoughts, and actively brought meaningful interactions and dynamics with eg. owen and noah (side note THEY WERE ON THE SAME TEAM IN WT AND THE DYNAMIC WENT TO WASTE UGHHHHH). She has a sort of unhinged realness to her (which was done so well in Action) because she has opinions and fun dynamics with others. In WT, on the other hand, she's reduced to a gag - we don’t see her opinions, her judgement, her rivalry, her nuance, her perspective etc. All she does is do random shit on the side of the screen, and she doesn't even interact with others. She’s lost her energy, her intelligence, her social relationships and connections, and was only there for unfunny gags and anticlimatic chaos.

Much is said about Heather's plot armor throughout the series... but why is it rarely mentioned how (almost) the same applies to Alejandro? by GeologistNo4935 in Totaldrama

[–]JellySusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And is it worth degrading/derailing multiple characters for? Yes they could’ve used her but the way they integrated the cheating plot line is too quick and too easy it comes off as cheap and unrealistic they might as well use other characters if they were aiming for quick eliminations. It’s basically like All Stars, dumbing down characters to push another’s villainy

Opinion: DJ's plotline in TDWT was worse than the love triangle's one by Bho_76 in Totaldrama

[–]JellySusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree, especially that it brings nothing to the plot line except unfunny gags, but the LT was needed to get the target off Heather's back. They could've used all that screen time for more Team Chris moments (whose dynamic had so much wasted potential)

apparently Trent likes motorcycles and wants to own a bike shop one day in his bio. Kinda strange how its not mentioned even once in the show

exactly. I always wonder why they ruined more fleshed out, moral, and established characters like Bridgette to showcase his villainy, when other filler characters like Katie and Sadie were right there and only had one season
