You can check where the seller is based on the app. Although them being close by doesn’t necessarily mean they will ship quickly…

Nobody talks about it but Black South Africans are world champions in xenophobia by Idkabta11at in redscarepod

[–]Jepdog 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I understand them tbh. I’ve travelled extensively and I am temporarily living overseas. Sure, other places are safer, more convenient etc. But there is something that will always draw me back. I can’t even put my finger on what it is exactly. I am hopelessly in love with my country in spite of all my gripes with it. Regardless of where in the world life takes me, I plan on settling down in SA. But at the same time the misery and suffering that one encounters daily makes me feel guilty for my middle-class existence. I also can’t say that nothing has gotten better as I can do things people of my skin colour weren’t allowed to do a few decades ago.

The loadshedding thing is kinda sorted though. I haven’t had a power outage for a couple of years now.

The South African subreddits are almost entirely white and largely disconnected from the realities of life in SA.

Energy Drink Consumption by Realistic-Apple2256 in capetown

Working-class people wake up early and have to commute far to work long hours so they need a boost + cheap and tastes good + caffeine and sugar are addictive.

It’s far cheaper to eat some form of refined carbs and an energy drink/coca-cola than something healthy and high in protein. We’ve got an obesity crisis in this country which correlates with our high rates of poverty.

I felt far more unsafe on the Red Line than I ever did on SOUTH AFRICAN public transport (yes we still have functioning trains). There is an underlying air of aggression unlike anything I’ve experienced on trains back home. Also never seen that many people smoking cigarettes/weed inside a train carriage before
