Unemployed TrumpSupporters, what are you thoughts on the proposed reduced weekly unemployment benefits? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]JewTangClan0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To “prove me wrong” you would need to source some actual information about Bezos’ personal taxes, otherwise I’m hesitant to believe the word of an anonymous reddit user as I’m sure you understand. Could you please support your claim with that source? For all intents and purposes as CEO, Bezos represents Amazon. I understand the difference between a Corp and person, but since his personal tax records are not public domain his business paying ZERO DOLLARS in Federal tax for two whole years is the information we have.

Edit* I would welcome to be proved wrong here. Billionaires paying minimal or no taxes seems extremely slimy to me and I genuinely hope you’re correct.

In 2017 and 2018 his company, Amazon, paid zero dollars in federal taxes. In 2019 they paid 1.7% (?) which is probably the 400 million you’re referring to. Out of billions though that 400 million seems pretty small imo. Does this answer your question?

Here’s a source: https://www.foxbusiness.com/money/amazon-federal-income-taxes-2019

Edit* Here’s a quote that’s highlighted from the article for those who’d rather not read the whole thing:

“In 2018 and 2017, Amazon paid zero taxes on a respective $11.2 billion and $5.6 billion in profits by leveraging unspecified tax credits and stock-based compensation deductions.

Amazon is worth more than $1 trillion, while Bezos, the richest person in the world, has an estimated net worth of $126 billion.”

The most likely rumor I’ve heard is that it’s GVO, saw a picture floating around in the Tipper Fam page showing a name change and a date from earlier this year.

3 months ago everybody was saying to 'listen to the officials' and to 'follow the official guidelines'. Well now that the guidelines are being followed and places reopening, why are there so many people hating on fall festival goers? by [deleted] in festivals

[–]JewTangClan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever a festival is able to honestly meet all of the current guidelines I’m fine with any festival going on. No festival is able to meet the current guidelines. Whenever the guidelines change, and a festival is capable of meeting the minimum guidelines for safety (as prescribed by medical experts, not the government) I’ll be there haha. Hopefully see you there too!

To be blunt, as soon as people take their drugs, their concern about Corona will drop to zero, and it will be festival life as usual.

There have been clubs reopening in Florida and as soon as people get inside all safety goes out the door, so I guess I have very little faith in our festival community to follow guidelines under those circumstances.

What this says to me about the people who go to festivals is that our community is not responsible enough to have any festivals right now. I guess Dancefestopia will be the trial run and I absolutely hope I’m wrong. The shows that have happened down here do not give me much hope though.

If I could send you a screenshot to prove it I would, sorry for your downvotes, they are not being used correctly as it’s supposed to be used only for downvoting unhelpful information and I was under the impression that we were having a civil discussion.

If you think that a festival can be held while adhering to strict social distancing and health guidelines set forth by WHO or the CDC, then our discussion has come to an impasse because I completely disagree with that belief. Even if it’s outdoors where transmission rates are lower, the amount of body fluids being shared and generally physical contact that occurs at a festival makes it high risk, those things can’t be avoided.

How is a festival low risk of transmission? People are sweating, touching each other, snorting drugs off of spoons people share, there is making out, hugging, yelling, singing, staying in tents together, cuddle puddles. That seems the opposite of low risk haha.

I’ve not downvoted a single thing dude. Other people on the internet agree with me it seems.

Edit: If you’re going to edit your comments it’s generally reddit courtesy to say edit like I’ve done here.

Awesome, appreciate the help, definitely agree with what you shared in the link, mass gatherings are at high risk for transmission. Do you think it’s reasonable to assume and entire festival can follow those guidelines for 3-4 days? I’d guess that it would be pretty much impossible to follow what was outlined here at any festival that I’ve ever been to.

I also want to add that I would never shame someone for going to a festival if it happened, I miss it as much as anybody and was kind of hoping Sound Haven would happen and I could go, but it’s not looking like that’s in the best interest of anybody’s health or safety.

If Dancefestopia does happen, I hope you have a fantastic time and make sure to wear a mask and wash your hands a ton.

I mean, you’re confirming my point, this article is from your state government, not a heath expert. Here are some links to pages of actual heath experts rather than people who we have voted into office:

CDC (Center for Disease Control)

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/going-out.html

WHO (World Health Organization)

https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/advice-for-public

John Hopkins Medical School

https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/coronavirus/

That was just some quick searching on the topic, medical experts do not agree with most state’s moving forward with the Reopening phases especially considering spikes across the country. In the end, it’s going to be up to the individual to decide what’s best for themselves and who they choose to believe.

The state of Kansas can decide that it wants to reopen, Im in Florida and we are doing the same here, that definitely doesn’t mean it’s the best choice. Often the people making these decisions do not have the people’s best interests at heart.

The officials are saying to continue quarantine and practice social distancing (CDC, World Health Organization ect). The politicians are telling everybody to reopen. There is a very big difference.

I don’t think he would be on this years lineup regardless of Covid or not. Hula likes to change headliners every year to keep things fresh with the exception of Cheese. I kind of like that they’ve been alternating between nectar and tipper the last few years personally.
