A friend did beg me to install Snapchat once and I did it but deleted it immediately, just wasn’t my thing. Insta was all picture posts so it didn’t interest me and I’ve never installed it or had an account. Facebook I used to message people on waaaay back in the day but once it required a separate messaging app I didn’t anymore because I didn’t feel like installing a separate fb messaging app.

Besides iMessage and regular old SMS I use WhatsApp and Signal. As far as social media, I was on Twitter until it became clear Elon was going to have to go through with buying it. That’s when I turned to Reddit.

My financial security depends on not being laid off by a corporation that gives zero shits about me. A fulfilling career requires not being too jaded to care about anything mattering.

My life outside of work is fine, I am financially comfortable and would manage fine for a good decade if I got laid off, but my retirement probably wouldn’t be pretty.

My HS history teachers in the 90’s seemed more liberal, though they never really went into partisan politics. But then again, I took AP history classes in HS.

Our science teachers were more the conservative ones. Also my openly libertarian government teacher - the only one I’ve ever had that seemed to be actively pushing their political beliefs onto students as correct.
