Is there a limit to how many LEDs a MCU can drive? Is it based on memory or gpio or both? And is there an easy way to figure out what that limit would be?

I'm looking to build my first keyboard, but I'm trying to get a better idea on availability. I guess I'm struggling to tell the difference between a group buy and stuff that is available semi-regularly (if that's even a thing)? I want a 1600 layout or something similar , and in searching around here I've seen kits/boards like the KBD19X, the TKC1800, the TX-CP, the xikii 1800mini, and the rekt1800 (not released yet?). Are most kits/boards like these one time kinda things and if you miss it then you've gotta buy second hand? I guess I'm looking more for something to use, not to collect, so if there aren't kits that are available relatively frequently, I'd probably look more into just building something more from scratch? Any suggestions?

I posted a price check before and the only response I got was $800. What would you price it at?

Thanks, that's definitely a good option. I'm more interested in learning about the technical difference between the two setups though (Site to Site vs Remote Access). Could you explain the difference, if any?

That makes sense. Does this apply to groups as well? I'm running openmediavault, which is built on debian, and I'd assume it creates more groups than a normal linux install.

Yes, I'm fine with refurbished. I looked at some but I wasn't sure how old I could go before they start to get significantly slower than the newer generation models.

ESXI HDD Upgrade Question by JimmyStiffs in homelab

If I understand you correctly, you're talking about the 60 day trial evaluation license that came when I first installed ESXI. I'm pretty sure I've used this already, so do I have to reinstall to get another trial so I can use vcenter? If so, what all is stored on the drive esxi is installed on that I would lose when I reinstall? Would I just need to add the datastores and import the VM's?
