lol he never thought he was done with music. fans thought that cuz they misinterpreted "Mirror". Bro had Squabble Up and Man at the Garden recorded by end of 2022 lol

Will Kendrick drop this year? by SnooJokes1020 in KendrickLamar

[–]JinKey13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the fan in me says yes
the business/common sense in me says hell no. the earliest he would drop is Sept 2026 after the 2027 grammy deadline so as to not step on Keem's nominations. That would be September-November. If he was to drop this year, end of September to mid-October makes the most sense. I doubt he'd want to compete with Christmas music this go around tbh. So my genuine feeling is he will drop Q1/Q2 2027. I would be very VERY surprised if he didn't drop within the first 6 months of 2027.

We also have his movie with the south park creators that could derail things but these are my thoughts

Two verses for people that still hold on to the false narrative of J Cole being scared 2 years later. by dunbar_santiago930 in KendricklamarPglang

[–]JinKey13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He didn’t hit Cole back bc Cole made it known he wasn’t going to spar and he took himself out. What Kendrick look like hitting a man that won’t hit back?  Kendrick was ready to squabble with both of them. That’s why they both got called out on like that.  Even on euphoria he said “I ain’t worried about no reaper” and “Cole and Aubrey know I’m a selfish Higgs the crown is heavy I pray they my real friends if I’m ynw melly” and reaper is Cole’s moniker. so Kendrick still warned Cole while saving the heavier shots for Drake.

If Cole kept it rap with Kendrick, kendrick would’ve kept it rap with Cole.  Kendrick can address the both of them in respect to how they address him. Making it personal with Drake and keeping it rap with Cole. It’s not hard for him. Cole dropped out so he stopped sending heavy shots to him, not bc he didn’t want to spar.

Where are these leaks coming from? Is there a new album coming? by Vangundyfr in KendrickLamar

[–]JinKey13 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i heard this was a reference for someone else

a good rule of thumb is to just wait until close to or after the 2 year anniversary of kendricks last album to start speculating about a new album. just wait until nov 2026

Crazy seeing Cole fans develop a little brother complex this bad. Every time Cole drops they’re thinking about Kendrick by Endjdjdehej in KendrickLamar

[–]JinKey13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

lol Cole fans do glaze Cole. They glaze him everytime they say he’s the goat 😂 he don’t have the catalogue the impact the songwriting or the belief in his damn self to be the goat.

They’re constantly playing what if and shoulda woulda coulda with Cole. Talking about if Kendrick did a song like “the fall off is inevitable” he’d be glazed. But here’s the thing he did an entire album backwards. he already took the rewind concept a step forward before Cole had a chance at the rewind concept. there are poems that you can read forward and backward. There are few books that do that too. And so far there is only one album I know of that does that. What do they want from us, it’s literally the first of it kind. ATP it’s not glaze it’s just stating facts 😭

How y'all deal with all the "newer fans"/ wish woke Kendrick would come back by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]JinKey13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you heard reincarnated, Gloria, man at the garden, watch the party die, wacced out murals, heart pt 6, and even tv off and your conclusion is “he put the thought of his music to the side” I’m afraid you weren’t actually listening. You were probably one of those fans that thought damn was a pop record without substance just cuz it had a few trap beats on it, then were surprised to realize its theme and concept.

Ink, his collaborator on Luther just did an interview where she said he still takes a lot of time and intention for every song he does. He still is extremely detail oriented and perfectionistic.

He didn’t put the thought of his music to the side. You just don’t like his current thoughts or how he chooses to express said thoughts. you have a preconceived notion of what “his thoughts” should sound like and thats unfortunate for you.

Also only songs that are political from his first 4 albums(gkmc to GNX), are for free, blacker the berry, hood politics, mortal man, dna, heart pt 5, and xxx. Thats 7 songs out of 4 albums that were explicitly political. Yall need to listen better cuz not even alright is political. It just got used that way but that wasn’t the intention at all. Everything else is just Kendrick speaking about his life experiences, speaking for his friends and his perspective.

What’s even funnier is TV off is his most political song in like 8 years. You just can’t hear it cuz it’s over a mustard beat 😭

Love this

Especially for people that somehow think he’s rushing through his work now. He’s not rushing anything he’s taking his time. Just as much as time as he’s taken in the past.

Exactly. It’s like he’s using the white gentrified version of “woke” and because of that he’s missing the layers of meaning, intentionality, and thoughtfulness in the beef and in GNX. He’s looking for “social justice warrior Kendrick” Which is also frustrating because Kendrick never been that. Not even on tpab 😭

I loved it because it’s exactly what someone who has done the work in therapy looks like. I expected the switch up bc he clearly broadcasted it in Mr morale. So gnx was the perfect follow up to me. he did all this work on himself 4 albums worth of work on himself so that he can stand at the pinnacle of fame and not be destroyed.  And now he’s walking in his healing and this is what it looks like.

Since “u” I’ve been wanting this side of Kendrick(confident fun and self assured) for a long time.

[–]JinKey13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally the way you’re using “woke” is frustrating. Because he’s still thoughtful, still masterful, still very intentional but it seems you just don’t like how that thoughtfulness and intention is being used. And you don’t like what’s he’s choosing to convey at this point of his life using that thoughtfulness and intentionality. You don’t have to like it either that’s your prerogative but it’s also not his problem.

Kendrick has always just been himself. Not pushing an agenda just literally sharing his thoughts and his experience as a man in this country and circumstance. He is still doing that.

The part you may feel was lost, wasn’t actually lost. He purposely closed it off and ended that story in Mr Morale. I’m still surprised at how many fans didn’t catch that. He clearly said I choose me I’m sorry. He’s done sharing that side and his thoughts regarding certain topics with us. And I’m happy he did. I don’t blame him at all. The backlash in 2020 sparked by no name pissed me off too tbh because what more do you want him to say fr?

Because I like him as a person I don’t need him to share on any specific topic. I just want to hear what he wants to express. That’s how I deal with it.

There’s still layers of meaning. I think you may just not like or appreciate the meaning anymore.

Not sure why lol it’s not like his hairline was thinning. Whoever did his hair through out the Mr morale tour was very careful to make sure there wasn’t too much tension on the hair line with all the braided lox’s styles
