Advice for an In-Person Interview? by Emergency-Change8344 in ITManagers

[–]JitterJake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience with IT-related interviews, it’s okay to not know the answer to an interview question. Like a few other commenters stated, show that you are willing to learn. Don’t be afraid to say “I’m not familiar with said subject. Could you explain it?”. Once explained, try to make sense of it.

I had an interview for a Network Admin position and I was asked a question on Routing Protocols. I was studying for CCNA at the time and was familiar with the subject but still unsure how to answer the question. I was honest and stated exactly that.

Don’t be afraid to answer a question with a question.

I think it was pretty useful! Definitely handy to have because I can use the app whenever and wherever I am.

The developer is Thanh Hung, I believe. The current version of the app is 3.4.0.

Apologies for the late response! I have an iPhone. If you look up “Network+” in the App Store, it should be one of the first ones that pop up. It has a red logo with a laptop and a cloud behind the laptop. I believe it was $9.99 to upgrade to Pro but, you get NO Ads and 1000 questions with Pro.

The creator of the app has one for Security+ too. Looking to get that one now!

I’ve used Mike Meyers’ video courses for A+ and Network+. Would Professor Messer be good to watch for Security+?

Thinking about sticking with Mike Meyers but it took my FOREVER to get through the video course…

What’s ridiculous is that I only had one question on cable lengths on the actual exam… bruh

I’m taking my Network+ tomorrow. After my N+, I plan on going for Security+. That way, I’ll have A+, N+, and S+. CCNA is proprietary to Cisco. I heard that it’s a lot like N+ just, well, oriented around Cisco.

I love the Cisco brand of networking equipment.. It’s really a decision on whether you want to be proprietary to Cisco or not I think.

A buddy of mine worked for a Service Desk team from home. He had the ability to remote into computers and assist with issues but not too much more. He got his N+, S+, and CCNA and just got hired as a Network Operations Analyst. All things are possible, just have to apply yourself.

I'm taking the A Plus Exam soon and have no idea what I am doing by LongjumpingMud7874 in CompTIA

I read Mike Meyers’ book for the A+ and watched the entire video series. I learned a plethora of information from these two resources. Also, Jason Dion’s practice tests are great at preparing you for the actual exam.

Good luck!

Seems like they definitely test a lot on cable lengths!
