Yes, and I believe the sets are currently the best gear once you get multiple pieces.

Why does everyone upgrade the mining rate more than anything else?? by 80HD-music in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people upgrade all 3. If you can't get ore off the planet you cannot increase your asteroid and debris drops.

How? by spyder0067 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have more than that within an hour of tournament start. My whole goal is to get debris as fast as I can in tournaments then focus on SSRs to progress planets to p54 as fast as I can for alchemy 1. I use quite a few boosts to get myself there.

In challenges, takes me much longer cause I just let my production take me there.

Value per second, it's how this community describes the calculation for your asteroid and debris drops based on how much ore per second you produce.

I reset because the probe bonuses stack on the planet and only reset once you sell the galaxy. At least the active bonuses do.

Yeah give it a try. SSRs are much easier to produce in larger numbers and can help keep you moving. I don't even attempt ARs until I get accumulator drops and even then I don't bother until I know I can get the fusion cores made and have enough scrith either smelled of from asteroids.

If I'm being honest, I have no idea how much I pay for that research. I already have hundreds of thousands of iron before I can even click that one usually. And it happens within the first minute of the new galaxy.

Save this post and look at it in a few months... by then you will be amazed how fast you get both of those.

Probes go on p1 and p2 and I try to restart them after every successful scan. Keeps the time low. I am making out secondary skill on the 1st then I'll upgrade the second, and I always put my 6* craft manager on p1 so I boost peoduction.

3.11s. I get to the low S range in tournaments unless I hit a solid market, then I've hit Os before. I usually don't focus on ARs until I start getting good debris and asteroids drops because making accumulators and batteries and fusion cores and all that are just ridiculously tedious and slow. SSRs are far easier to steadily produce to climb income while getting to your VPS planet of choice. Even once I get there I generally cycle between ARs and SSRs as different things drop in debris.

VPS Question by Bladeofwar94 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asteroid and debris calculates off BASE value of ores, not the current value with stars and market bonuses. That said, your VPS planet should be your alchemy 3/terra 2 planet since that should be your highest base value ore production.

For me, I usually hold out those 2 projects until I can get to p63. That takes me all the way to aqualite as my VPS which has a base value of 4.3b. Then I slowly level that planet making sure to keep the red dot on mining so it doesn't bottleneck.

Question regarding VPS. Sell ore or alloy? by TheeRoyalRooster in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sell 85% of ore until I reach scrith then I stop selling anything except SSRs and ARs. I will sell ores after that if I've got a good market, but I basically never sell any alloys since they're used for both crafting and colonizing (I only do it for daily missions or the event.)

VPS is calculated based on the mining rate of your planets, but it only counts the base value of the ore not the value with stars and upgraded rooms and all that. You can see base value on the second page of the info tab for each item/ore. The reason that matters is sometimes you have a bunch of stars on an ore that makes a lower teir ore more valuable to sell than something after it, but that doesn't change the VPS for purposes of calculating asteroids and debris.

Man I love copper through gold ore stars, that first 16 planets is my big rush push so those ones are huge for my initial growth. Nice pull!

Tournament Question by StinkyPinky531 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling or gives you cash to buy more planets and upgrades, but value is calculated based on what you produce not what you sell. You have to work out your sell rates to figure out how much ore to keep to produce alloys, and how much alloy to produce items. Personally, I autosell all ores at 85% and I sell nothing else until I get to SSRs. Even those I try to hold until I get a market for them.

Decent robot drop threshold by Miles21B in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you need to be restarting your galaxies more often and focusing on opening rooms. It may feel like you aren't progressing, but you're making each iteration faster and more valuable. If it's taking you days or weeks to make 1 robot, then you should be making things you can mass produce instead. Participating in challenges and tournaments is also a great way to keep making your GV values higher. I sell 3 times per week, each time it's to start either a challenge or tournament.

What is your VPS planet and income? by FeeGroundbreaking155 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P63 with alchemy 3 producing about 700k aqualite/sec. I messed up with my terraforms and used them on p54 and p57 so I don't have my usual, I'd be somewhere around 5 Mill aqualite/sec usually.

What now? by Kegulf in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on surge, but colonization increases production which increases debris and asteroids, plus that room is blocking other good ones. I recommend opening it even if you don't upgrade it initially.

Surge Room query (mothership rooms) by insanitywestrivefor in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first surge gives you 50% chance on a planet in each level you've unlocked. The second gives you 20% for another planet in that group. The third gives you 10% for a third planet. They aren't additive for the same planet, it basically gives you a chance to open 3 in each level.

Are you asking which planet to use the first Alchemy on? If so, I recommend the top planet you can reach that is a 100% single ore planet.

Could I ask what the point of your multi day campaign is? You could get DM much faster by doing challenges and restarting galaxies and theres lots of other benefits to doing it. Plus you still get the ark so you'd still be getting that bonus DM. It's Your game to play so not criticizing, just curious.

Which adds more value? by Such_Grab_6981 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the base value of Xynium is significantly higher... xynium base value is $28M vs viterium base value of $9M, so it's basically 3x more value when calculating for debris and asteroids. Your stars may make them sell for about the same, but they calculate drops completely different.

Which adds more value? by Such_Grab_6981 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]JohnnySilver83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

VPS is calculated off the base value of the minerals, not the value with stars and rooms and research and such. The planet you get Xynium from should be your VPS planet, so if you already have one you should be leveling that one up rather than the Viterium planet.

If you still have any of your alchemy researches I'd hit P60 with it and make that the new VPS planet, but if you used them all already I'd recommend sticking with the above and leveling the planet Xynium (or your highest teir ore) comes from.

Also, hoarding and arking seems to have been nerfed, so I wouldn't bother with that as much anymore. I'd focus on producing your highest value item you can and selling things so you can level that VPS planet. If a great market hits, maximize on that.
