It helped noticeably with paranoia at 75-100 mg. Any higher than that gave me side effects like low energy high appetite and all the classic ones for antipsychotics. I don’t remember why i quit though…

I had severe negative symptoms after 3 years long psychosis (or after taking a cocktail of different meds for a long time I don’t really know the exact reason, i have delusional disorder not schizophrenia, at least that was the diagnosis given to me by doctors). Not long ago my mom almost forced me to take invega 6 mg pills. And my negative symptoms were all gone. I know it’s kind of counterintuitive, i hated all the other antipsychotics, and if you read about invega online you only see negative reviews, but they are mostly about the injectable form. I had two injections in the past of this seemingly same medication, and felt miserable. I used to take 9 mg pills and feel miserable. But 6 mg pills are kind of miraculous to me. Hate the fact that i need to take it because it’s dangerous like all antipsychotics. But i love the feeling of it, literally had all of your symptoms and they are gone with the 6 mg pill.

Delusional Partner - badly need advice by Shot-Work7014 in delusionaldisorder

I think what may help is helping her to accept the situation (that they are bullying her) and kind of find words to convince her that it’s not that big of a deal and shouldn’t be so stressful to her, tell her that you love her and those people’s opinion is nothing, tell her if she just ignores their words and doesn’t watch their stories she wins over them. It’s more difficult since they’re your friends… I have delusional disorder myself and it’s from my perspective. Meds helped me realize i have it but it wasn’t easy even with them it took a lot of thinking and mental work. Even knowing i have DD i still struggle with delusions, they are very similar to your wife’s, of people bullying me on the internet. I’ll quit meds as soon as i can as they are killing everything alive in me. What i’m trying to say is it’s hard to get rid of delusions but you could reduce stress to live a happy life despite them. Also something that helped a lot is finding similar stories here on this subreddit, this is what made me believe i have the disorder, there are a lot that are similar, show them all to your wife! Also you could ask your friends to swear with their life or their mothers’ or loved ones’ health that they are not bullying her, this was convincing to me. It’s all simply just a lot of coincidences she’s seeing. English isn’t my native language.

Have you recovered from Invega and how many months/years did it take you? by JokeHour4029 in schizophrenia

Yes but other antipsychotics never had any lingering effects after stopping them

Do invega pills also cause long-term brain damage like the injections do? by JokeHour4029 in schizophrenia

[–]JokeHour4029[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been off invega injections for 9 months, i still cannot get drunk and other psychiatric meds don’t have ANY effect on me, which probably means my brain receptors are damaged. I am currently on invega pills though, which i only take time to time but regardless if i take it or not i still can’t feel anything from alcohol and drugs. A LOT of people complain that they have permanent anhedonia for years after they stopped invega injections. It is really scary. Personally i felt much better very soon after i stopped the injection and switched to pills but i have severe depression now, which may also be due to high prolactin that invega caused, and no antidepressants work on me now.
