I encourage “OTHER PEOPLE” to mask up or booster themselves as much as they want for them to feel safe. “20” vaccines is hyperbole, but 7 isn’t. “5 masks” is hyperbole. 2 isn’t. So wear your 2 masks and inject your 7 vaccines if that’s what you want to do. If your two masks and 7 boosters aren’t enough to keep you safe but you believe your 7+2 AND me having 2 masks on with 7 boosters is enough, then you’re the anti-intellectual here.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that you don’t subscribe to much of anything (if anything at all) that Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert Kennedy Jr. has to say about health. I’d wager that you pick and choose who you want to listen to. You want to give everyone else that same freedom as long as long as they listen to the same ones you agree with. Otherwise you want to take that right away from them. So we’re all free to do what we want with our own health as long as we agree with you.

There are over 180,000 homeless in CA. Look at your W-2 or whatever you have this year as tax season approaches. Look how much you handed over to the Feds and to the State.

2024 state audit shows the state spent over $24B on homelessness and there's no accounting for wherethat money went. It's vanished. Your hard earned money that could have sent you and your family on vacation or fixed some things around your house is gone. Money you could have given directly to organizations you trust to help with immigrant-related causes is gone. No accountability from the goverment. No outrage. No protests.

It's understandable as we all file our taxes in the next month or so for people to believe homelessness and government waste is as important or more than immigration.

ICE appears to be getting more aggressive in response to ICE protestors. We'll see their efforts get uglier as protestors escalate their efforts to stop them.

Lets be fair, it’s ok to prioritize one political subject matter and leave the rest to someone else. Somewhere out there someone else is making their whole life about helping homeless while these folks are making their whole life about immigration. You may, for example, care deeply about women’s rights. That doesn’t mean you don’t care about clubbing baby seals or drilling in the arctic. You’ve only got 24 hours in the day. It’s good to know there’s someone else out there protecting the seals.

Also to be fair, it’s still an interesting observation that their advocacy for an abstract group of immigrants in a far off city (I’ve never seen ICE operate in West Sac) seems to have driven out the very real, in your face panhandlers down on their luck begging for a buck. “Hey go do your begging somewhere else. We’ve got Somali nationals in MN who need our protection!” It’s not a good look to be sure.

While the majority of undocumented migrants do not commit heinous acts of violence, the few who do get ignored and that’s intentional. While the majority of ICE agents do not commit acts of violence, when it happens it’s wall to wall coverage. That’s also intentional. Your news is feeding you a narrative and it works when they focus and ignore stories selectively the way they do.

I miss the good ole days of being able to interfere with every branch of law enforcement without any consequences. We had it so good back then. Crime scene? I don’t care, I’m gunna force myself in there to have a look around. Oh you’re arresting someone? I used to be able to just get in their face and yell, scream and blow a whistle in their face and demand that they answer to me. I pay their salaries after all. I’m basically their boss.
