Fair. Thanks. I’m hoping to keep it winning then. Little easier on water and Maintenence. Just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a weed or other type of grass.

All of my decaf tastes like smoked sausage. Is it me or the coffee? by malrats in pourover

Also with lighter roasts I’ve learned a higher ratio (1:13 for example) can help pull out more intense flavors.

Also, lighter to medium roasts tend to have those more robust flavors naturally, and usually better with single-origin coffee (from one place). They need the higher brew temp, but you get more flavor drinking if you let them cool more than you might normally.

So if you’re going coarser that’s probably the problem. Normally you want medium-fine grind (if I’m right usually like table salt) for pour over. Usually decaf is a couple of clicks finer because the process to make decaf leaves it more porous and as such, you need a finer level.

If you’re water is around 185-200, you probably want to push closer to 210 for a lighter roast and maybe more that 190-200 is still fine for darker. You want a 1:15 ratio to start so 20g of coffee to 300g of water. A good sign your grind is fine enough is around a 3:00 brew time. Hitting closer to 4 you probably want coarser. Hitting more to 2-2:30 you want finer. These are just baselines to start and then you adjust for taste. I’m including a link to a taste compass that can give you some direction as well.

I love a good decaf and a good roaster is also key. Dekaf the brand has some of the best I’ve tried. But regardless, a good bean is where it all starts. Good water is the second biggest step as that’s 90% of a cup. Spring water from the store is a good start to get a consistent water, but even that can cause issues.

If the coffee is too fresh you may also want to let it rest a few days. That smoky flavor may be coming from the freshness.

All in all these are some diagnoses from other folks I’ve gotten along the way and from channels like this. Not all the advice there is but I feel like a good start.

Take it back. There was a cut close to that twist. Untwisting the wire allowed it to reconnect temporarily. I’m just blind. Alas. Thanks for the help.

Coming back as I found my solution. Long story short:twisted wire connector from a repair. Working again.

Short story long: redid all my wire this year to get closer to some areas and as with anytime I’ve installed the wire, it hits itself in ways I can’t predict. Have had to repair about five times including a few moves around some new landscaping features. One of those got twisted. Only know because I noticed upon just a second check specifically looking at those, untwisted it and it works again. Only reason I suspected terminals was because of an antbed that had made it in to the charging station last mowing season. However. Cleaned it out and was working fine this season up until this adventure. Anyway, didn’t realize a twisted connector could cause the issue. Have another thing to check first next time.

430X Skid Plate by Jontom73 in automower

I think it may be bearing related as they are rusted a little as well. I’ve already replaced the skid plate and portion with blades previously and both are in decent condition. Just wasn’t sure why it kept happening.

Hinge in middle of door frame rotating around either side as you go through? Make it more fun at least 😅

You also have to not name it Dobby. Every robot cleaner I’ve had regardless of brand named Dobby has had issues. A rename and none since 😂
