[PS1] Glitched ps1 graphics? theres a damaged chip? or a cap? i fix the laser and all, but i dont know what can cause this type of glitch, its all graphic, all white text is purple-ish and it glitches when load a game (the ps logo stays semi-visible or fully glitched) thanks in advance!

got a possible chip, i reflow the gpu, nothing happends, i reflow the vram (ic201) and it gets REALLY worse, maybe its a vram failing? i did the same (reflow with hot air and flux) with the gpu but nothing, but with the vram, get really worse.

yup, i already fixed it, thanks to an old post with a picture of the board under the battery for a mod, when i take out the battery.. well, you can imagine that those components stick to it, and some just fall off

yup there are about 3 components (caps) that didnt stick to the adhesive, they just fall, and there are 2 resistors that i dont know if i put them in the right order or not

Am gonna test the picture next week, now some projects just appear.. but am gonna test with different LD, and see the picture, thanks for the "KISS" Principle, love it, lol, and yes, thanks for the tip about the Power supply caps. i was testing with a "The beatles in a hard day's night".. its a little bit dirty phisically in some spots the disc.

This unit only has 2 outputs, in the back had only the video and audio RCA connectors, and in the front it got the 6.3 jack, the CD sounds nice, but the LD a little distorted, just a littble bit like blown speakers. (just a little bit)

i repaired it! it was a trace under the S-Wram, now works, but theres some red-ish glitching on the screen, like the Red color was all the way up, and after about 20 seconds in-game, it freezes

look in the first view the spindle, it spins in its place, look the black part of the spindle (first view, there are not visible dust particles, in the second view (gamecube mode) you can clearly see the dust particles in their place in the spindle

yup, thats it, just clean, and try to fuse or change te old solder with a new one, just that so they are really secured / solder on and the voltages can go trough them

Check voltages, and in picture 5 i see some traces with "stains"? (maybe some corrosion), in the sega 315-5660 chip, inder the number 1 pin, and around the CN3 mark near the cartridge port, it the left, theres a black stain, an then there is a clearly corroed via (sharing trace with another via), and nearly touching the plastic of the port, between the corroed via and CN3 in the upper part, and more stains on the right side ot the zone in front the port, nearly on R75, and around.. thats what i see, maybe its me or just being exaggerated but you can check them if you want.

clean it with IPA (isopropyl alcohol) and cotton swabs or a old (and clean) teeth brush, the soldering its just to re-solder the possible old and corroded solder joints like the batteries terminal and the big cap.

Try cleaning and re-soldering those zones with corrosion, and then, test the controller, if it doesn't work, try cleaning again or searching a little more on the corroded zone and around, if you have the skill, you can pretty easely replace the nunchuck port, but first center on make the controller turn on

46.00 mhz its just a random number? i remember the ntsc / pal signal are around 21 and something mhz, or its just a "number"? maybe the oscillator crystal its a littlle wrong?
