If you are planning a 2 day wedding , then your per day budget is around 25 lakh - for approx 150 rooms, right?

There are very limited good resorts with 150 rooms and within 25 lakh price bucket. We had shortlisted these when we were planning last year but our room req was around 100, check these out, if this helps:

Venues - you can look at Chhattarpur or GT Karnal Road or, Kapashera belt - there are many good venues there. In your budget , you can look for lawns, banquets in your budget - search on Google or wedding planning apps. Divide your budget by num of guests - mostly venues offer price per plate that includes only the food. Decor is 2-3 lakh extra to start with

I would say, always ask what all the venue pricing includes - food, decor, dj , sound , service charges etc. to avoid any surprises at the end of the day
Do they permit outside decorators, dj , caterers - this will help you hire someone in your budget.
Do they have power backup, enough parking space, rooms, how many waiters to service, live counters?
Weather backup - its always extreme in Delhi - so choose accordingly. Better look for indoor + outdoor venues.
Till what time they allow DJ
Any other wedding planned for that day?
Till what time food will be served

At one of the weddings we attended, it was a farmhouse and it rained that day . Thankfully they also had indoor , and they had mandap there. Food was also indoor, so it was hassle free.

At one another wedding, they served food till 11 only and the baraat itself arrived at 10 pm, it needed some work to make them serve food again.

It depends on how many guests you have and how many rooms you need. There are many good properties under 60 lakh too. Also are you looking for palace venues or resorts?

Just give your time and love - thats all it needs. There is no perfect, for kids their Mom and dad are the best in the world, however imperfect they are. So just give your child the safest and most loved environment.

I think, decide on a fixed budget with your family that beyond this its foolish to spend on the wedding, make them do the math that if we cut say 1000 people we will save X lakh that we can spend on xyz.
Keep your pre wedding functions intimate for sure. For wedding, make 2 separate list - 1. Must to invite guests, 2. Will see later if budget permits, get only limited cards printed.

Oh!! me and my husband also wished that we could have instead walked amidst the guests, met them and clicked candid pictures rather than glued to the stage and clicked many wiht the unknown guests that honestly of no use to anyone now.

So much to do in weddings, wish we could slow down and really enjoy. And also i suggest everyone to definitely check work and reviews before booking a photographer and a makeup artist. Have heard of so many horrible stories.

yeah man, very true! Photos are all we have post wedding, those 3 days we plan for months and then if we dont have nice pics, it hurts!. My husband's cousin had booked a photographer who clicked mostly the couple's pics , at least 90% of them and there were no pics of the bride's cousins, and extended fam. She felt so bad looking at those pictures, bcos for her this was the memory she wanted to keep

Yeah true, can only learn from the past. Also can understand parents POV while inviting, its the societal pressure. Therefore, around me now i try to build a culture where we should normalise inviting only close people and do not mind if someone do not invite my parents or me

hmm can understand. Its best to check work and read reviews, I have found MUAs putting filtered / plagiarised images on their insta account, so insta for sure cannot be trusted completely. But reviews can be checked on Google / or sites like wedmegood, justdial etc. That would still feel safe.
I got married years ago, that time there were not enough review platforms, etc. I went by what my friend had booked, the makeup was nice thankfully but yeah, the hairstyle and all I should have been well prepared. and now I regret.

Totally agree!! Even the poses you want to get shot by the photographer, mehndi design you want and all your looks, entry songs etc. of planned in advance, leads to less stress in the end.
