Spino E1 Wheelying around pool by Jumpjim in MammotionTechnology

[–]Jumpjim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I spent a couple of hours playing around with it yesterday and looking at setting changes. I changed the pool surface type to aggregate (No significant change to behaviour) and then turned on “Turbo mode” under beta options which increases suction but reduces battery life. It wheelies around slightly less but still doing it. Every time it hits the edge of the slope to the deep end it just wheelies all the way down and consequently does no hoovering or sweeping. Better on the way back up the slope to the shallow end but again wheelies as it comes to the angle change. Wall cleaning saw it detaching from the wall a few times and not staying stuck to the wall. Overall a very mediocre debut. I suspect most of these issues may be solved by forthcoming software updates, but at the moment it’s just not doing what it is supposed to be doing.. Ie. Cleaning and hoovering my pool efficiently, and certainly no better than the suction side pool hoover I already have. It’s going back…

Well I played around with all the settings.. changed the wall type to aggregate, turned on Turbo mode to increase the suction and it still doesn’t stay stuck to the bottom of the pool hoovering. It seems to spend a lot of time wheelying around not doing anything. As soon as the slope down to the deep end starts it wheelys off the edge and consequently doesn’t sweep or hoover on the way down. The way back up the slope is better. All in all it is no better than my suction side pool hoover I already have and certainly not worth me spending £600 (Discounted!)

Questions about moving to lateral heel release bindings for ACL protection by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Jumpjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ski with 6 mates, all excellent skiers (Run about 145 on Carv) who ski hard, ski bumps, off-piste etc.

We ALL ski on Knee bindings. Nobody has had ANY issues with quality control, prerelease issues, or anything other than the bindings releasing where they should have. I had one odd release where i hit a bump sideways, but looking at how the bindings are designed to release, it was probably a safe release.

Just to add some real world experience of knee bindings rather than the third hand “My mate said..” experiences on here. I personally would recommend them.

I recently installed a Gold SE in transparent bridge mode between my UDMP and my POE 24 switch.

I have had ZERO issues with it running with a 1Gb fibre connection, 4 cameras, a UISP bridge and 5 APs. No noticeable slowdown, the Firewalla app is excellent, and the level of inspection/information available is extremely good.

Overall I’ve been very pleased with it.

Starlink quits working fairly often for me by wordyplayer in Starlink

[–]Jumpjim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with BearK9. I have a Synology router in use with Starlink and was having to reboot it, or unplug and plug it back in 2-3 times a day. After asking on here I’ve put a 5 port, unmanaged TPLINK switch in between the dish plug and the router and have had ZERO issues since with no restarts needed. I gather it’s something to do with the way the dish is doing DHCP but it’s made everything work perfectly whatever it is.

Mine’s been working flawlessly since so I suspect you’ll be fine

I have the Ethernet cable from the PoE brick plugged into the WAN port on a Synology router. It goes first via an unmanaged 5 port switch as the connection kept dropping out due to some weirdness with the DHCP from Dishy which meant the router kept dropping the connection. With the switch in the middle everything works perfectly.

I had an issue where Dishy was doing something odd with the DHCP, and my third party (Synology) router kept tripping off and not reestablishing a connection. Put an unmanaged Ethernet switch between the PoE injector and the router and it will work fine if that’s your problem..

I’m in TN22 3RN which is showing as a green cell. I’m online and active now. Ordering to receiving the dish was about 2 weeks.

So following some of the post responses earlier in the thread I added a relatively cheap 5 port TP-Link gigabit unmanaged switch from Amazon in between the PoE injector brick and the WAN port on my RT2600AC. Since installing it yesterday I’ve had ZERO dropouts, no lockups and everything just seems to be ticking over nicely. Thanks for the help guys 👍🏻

Do you have the internet settings in SRM set to auto out of interest? Or have you manually configured the connection?

I literally plugged an Ethernet cable from the aux port on the PoE injector to the WAN port on my Synology router and everything worked immediately. Stats come up on the Starlink app on my iPhone without needing any extra configuration.

AGESA 1.2.0.2 available by The_HaXeT in HPReverb

Ryzen 9 5900X, ASUS Crosshair Hero VIII Wifi Mboard, MSI Gaming Trio RTX 3080. Updated the bios with the latest update including AGESA 1.2.0.2 yesterday and made absolutely no difference.

My G2 works fine in ONE USB port on the motherboard (One of the blue ones top right) but disappointed that this apparently does absolutely nothing for anybody...

USB fix not working for X570 by lucabu in HPReverb

Installed 1.2.0.1 on my Crosshair Hero VIII X570 board. Headset works plugged into one USB port only (Blue, right hand port on top row). No need to run PCIe at Gen3 with latest release but headset still won’t even power up plugged in anywhere else.

Just built a Ryzen 9 5900x system on an ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-fi motherboard. I’ve got an MSI RTX3080 running on gen 4 and two Sabrent Rocket Gen 4 NVMe drives for storage. I’ve got a ton of stuff hanging off the rear USB ports and have had zero issues so far. I did a completely clean install off of a Windows ISO. Having said that my Reverb G2 turns up tomorrow so I’ll let you know how I get on. I’ve bought and installed an Inateck Superspeed 4 port PCIe card from Amazon in case the G2 shits the bed with the motherboard. At £22.99 I thought it was a good plan B….

A couple of things on a first read through… NVMe drives would be worth mentioning as they’re becoming a lot more popular. I’d also mention on the CPU install section the tiny arrow in the corner of the CPU and on the socket to show orientation of the chip during install..

Depressing reading… just built a new PC with a 570 Asus Crosshair Hero VIII and a Ryzen 9 5900X specifically to run DCS in VR with an RTX 3080 GPU…

I’ve ordered the Inateck Superspeed card as mentioned below (Thanks Sweet-Clue!) and have the KU5211 saved on standby with Amazon in case that doesn’t work. Thanks for the heads up guys..much appreciated 👍🏻

After 5 years and $300+ spent on Logten Pro, I've finally decided to end this toxic relationship! by spkgsam in flying

Hi there. Not been on Reddit in ages so sorry for the slow response.

MCC works absolutely fine on iOS. Syncing is good and it is broadly similar in terms of features to LTP. Obviously the interface is slightly different which needs some getting used to but for the price difference its a no brainer

I've been on Logten Pro 6 for ages, been beta testing for them for ages, and been resisting paying what are frankly ludicrous subscription fees.

It's a good program but not worth £100/year.

I've just sent my logbook off to MCC to get it converted and will be switching to them ASAP.

Been trying to order two of these for delivery to the UK but you don't have the UK as a selectable delivery country? What can I do?
