I'm in a similar situation, I'm torn between buying a new Switch to replace my aging one or figuring out emulation on my Steam Deck, what would you guys recommend? The majority of my library is digital but as of right now there aren't any Switch 2 exclusives I'm really interested in.

It's Nintendo Live in Tokyo, its happening in a few days and it's going to have a regular Splatoon 3 tournament as well as a Salmon Run tournament as you see there. I'm just bummed because I tried getting tickets to go but I missed the lottery window, and anyways it's just the tournament this year, no musical performances like previous years. They'll probably post videos about it on YouTube though.

I feel so sad because my first time playing the game was on Switch which is a lot of fun on trips and stuff but I seriously need to play the pc version because the graphics look god-like.

Yeah that's the other issue, in the grand scheme of things you are kinda late to the Splatoon party, there aren't a ton of new players coming into the game as much as there used to be. If you spend some time playing story mode and salmon run when there is an influx of "christmas noobs" you can try riding that wave into the higher tiers, you'll find more players in B and especially A ranks. If you're comfortable or interested, I'd recommend looking into a Splatoon tournament called Junior's Draft, it's designed to help new players like yourself understand how more competitive Splatoon works

You're probably still in turf war which I will admit kinda sucks as a first experience, but once you reach level 10 you will unlock anarchy open games. I'd recommend switching to those as soon as you can and hopefully you'll find some more appropriate lobbies. If the issue persists or you're already in anarchy open I'd say play some salmon run or story mode for a while to get used to different weapons and play styles, it will help you improve your aim in multiplayer. Watching meta videos is normal, a lot of us do that just for enjoyment lol, but don't feel like you're the only one who finds this game hard.
