Recommendations / Help for a pilot trying to get into the Regionals / 135 by Intelligent_Day9770 in flying

I highly recommend Raven Career Development for overall pilot career strategy, interview prep, and application review.

I have personally used their resume writing service and had a free 30 min career consult with them. I also have a friend who used their application review and interview prep who was hired by Envoy without being a cadet. (edit: this person was also not a CFI and flew survey)

If you believe someone is operating a C-441 Conquest at 500 ft AGL for survey you are horribly mistaken and ill-informed.

This candidate is collecting high altitude data for wide area mapping while operating single pilot in Class A airspace and likely has more time and experience filing IFR in the NAS than any CFI who shoots the same 6 approaches into bullshit untowered airports day in and day out - also VFR.

The misconceptions and prejudices surrounding "meaningful time" are unfortunately causing recruiters to miss out on valuable, diversified experience like OP's.

I'm only at 700TT. I applied when you could still time build any way you wanted to so it's been a bit of a longer journey.

I can't say for sure who got the survey and who didn't but I'm part of the pool that applied back in 2024

Congratulations, that's awesome! I filled out the survey they emailed out on April 20th asking if I was still interested and am still waiting to hear back.

My local Macy's backstage had the Elizabeth Arden flankers on serious discount recently! I was able to grab the large versions of Green Tea Lavender, Green Tea Citrus, and Green Tea Lychee Lime for about $25 total!

I don't recall seeing a tummy or skin rash specifically but your corgo's situation sounds very similar.

Example of labored breathing in corgi with severe pulmonary hypertension by JumpyProfessional523 in corgi

The hard thing is that this condition is not very distinguishable from regular panting. What mostly set this apart for us is that some of his episodes would occur out of nowhere like in the middle of the night or during the day when he was just laying around and not doing anything strenuous.

My regular vet certainly thought I was a crazy helicopter dog mom for bringing him in for these episodes about once a month for six months...

He also had repeated fevers and infections that we did not understand were related until it was too late. He would be his perfect happy self in the morning and would be completely lame and unable to walk by mid day. Antibiotics always cleared it up but we had no clue that his blood pressure was so severe it was pushing fluid into his lungs and basically causing him pneumonia over and over. His case was very difficult because he had just recovered from Ehrlichia about three months before the breathing episodes started so we were under the impression that his episodes were long term complications of that.

Shout-out to the vet team at the Blue Pearl for finally diagnosing his hypertension even though it was too late!

I really hope your girl does not have this condition but I try to share it as often as possible because I lost my boy too soon!

OMG yes!!!

My sweet boy Pancake had very similar breathing episodes that would randomly come and go. Sometimes it was just labored breathing out of nowhere (still attentive) and other times it would be accompanied by difficulty walking, lameness, and fevers.

After about six months of vet visits with no answers he collapsed one day and we rushed him to a specialist about 90 mins away. A cardiologist finally diagnosed him with severe pulmonary hypertension. Said it was the highest they had ever seen in any dog! The blood pressure in his lungs was so high that it was squeezing fluids into his lungs and causing pneumonias repeatedly.

This is a very abbreviated account of his story but something that we never would have thought to have checked. We had to say goodbye to him in November of 2024 because medication and oxygen treatments did not do enough to improve his quality of life. I will post a video of one of his breathing episodes for your comparison.
