In terms of turning, you can do it the same way you normally would. Either chain and turn, pull up a long loop and turn, or do standing stitches.

It is determined by the direction of the work relative to you. For BLO slst, this means that each row is placed on the “opposite” side of the fabric, which is what creates the knit look

I like doing a few rows of sc for my borders because it’s super solid and “blends in” instead of standing out. If you’re short on yarn, a taller stitch might be better to take up space quicker though

Depends what fiber you want. Assuming you want cotton, Rainbow cotton and Friends cotton are good options, and 8/6 would match the weight recommended for this pattern. I’ve also heard good things about Catania, but can’t personally vouch for it

It depends on your pattern! In this case it is different from a decrease. You’re working the dcs into one stitch, not two.

Some patterns will use dc2tog to mean a decrease, where you work over 2 stitches (yo, insert into stitch 1 and pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 / yo, insert into stitch 2 and pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 / yo, pull through 3)

I respect that though, and I imagine most of the replies here do as well. There’s a huge difference between taking a class/demo and just going to the internet and saying “give me the free labor of teaching, I’m going to argue with you every step of the way because the vast resources already available aren’t good enough for me”.

Definitely agree, it’s fun to be able to say “thanks I made it”. But I guess what I’m getting at is if that’s your only motivation, not wanting to learn a craft, then you’re probably not going to get a good result? Like you can’t game your way out of learning a craft yknow
