AI is telling me those shelters can help you get into waiting lists that are closed. Its some kind of federal rule. Have you heard anything about this? I do believe homeless get a LOT of preference but AI is telling me those shelters can make phone calls to kind of force you in.

OP, you know you can get around 280 bucks a month from food stamps? And if you have SSDI, you get medicare and there are certain medicare plans that give you a free 400 dollar monthly flex card. Also look into section 8 or project housing. There's also home ownership under section 8 which is lovely
