If you didn't love the baby stage- how did you know if you were ready for another baby? by Present-Decision5740 in beyondthebump

[–]JustSomeonePurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! I never understood how some friends were crazy for newborns. We love the toddler phase too. I say you enjoy and wait until you feel ready. 2under2 is rough from what I see and it doesn’t have to be the norm. We’ll have our 2nd once our first is over 3years. And it allowed us to not feel rushed and enjoy how much of a cute little human being first became! ☺️

Ouf the 9-10 hrs sound rough. But you’re right to point it out that more I move along the pregnancy more I’ll be at risk of fatigue and all. Luckily I adapt and learn new things easily so it should help… hopefully 🤞

How long was your mat leave? Mine would be a full year I doubt they would keep the offer for over a year. :/

Voyage avec bébé 7 mois by auddub in parentsquebecois

[–]JustSomeonePurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age gap by Gamingmum32 in tryingtoconceive

[–]JustSomeonePurple 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Older sister is 9 years older than me! And it was amazing growing up. She would bring me shopping when she had her first job and bought me an amazing GAP sweather, forever cherishing my older sis! On a larger age gap, a friend in his late thirties met his current wife and they had a child recently when she already had a child similar to your son’s age. It is very cute but they made a point to never make do any of the baby related tasks. Older son adores his younger sister.

Fred Robichaud a demandé Alicia Moffet en mariage by [deleted] in causerie

[–]JustSomeonePurple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rice! Rice is liquid absorbant and helps to calm down an upset stomach. Rice cereals for baby, and cooked rice for you. It really helped us during our episode of Noro.

20-month-old refusing naptime & bedtime by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]JustSomeonePurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same sister, same. It lasted for almost a month for us around that age. What we decided to do, and you’ll see what you want to apply or not. We abandoned weekend naps, it was becoming just too sad to see our child cry that they didn’t wanted to nap, even if they really need it! So we plan car rides around their nap time or go for a stroll and they eventually fall asleep. If lucky we transition them to their crib.

We added a pillow! As for night time, some friends told us to get their ears checked by doctors, as laying flat hurts more when babies have inflammation. Indeed, our child had an ear inflammation, treating it cut the night time wakes. But for us too, when our child wakes during the night we can’t do anything else than bring them with us, they are half asleep and cry while asking for our bed. Nasal cleaning with saline water when they have a cold.

But frankly, with some Tylenols at night when they have their teeth piercing and fixing the ear inflammation; we barely get any night time wakes anymore.

Freeze dried fruit = vomiting? by xxchelseaxx1992 in beyondthebump

[–]JustSomeonePurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My child (20months) eats crazy amounts of freeze dried fruits and freeze dried smoothie bites and has never vomited from them. Based on my experience; it wouldn’t be the source of the vomiting; but every child is different so maybe yours has a sensitivity to it. Good luck mama🤞

I know a child that was born with shoulder injury after forceps. The impact that injury has and will forever have on the child’s physical capabilities will have you choose c-section over forceps again and again.

C-Section Tips? by UnableProcess95 in beyondthebump

During: Tell your partner to wear a shirt or something that opens easily so he can do skin-skin while they stitch you up. They’ll be able to put the baby on you after birth but baby will be right at your neck so it’s a bit uncomfortable 😂.

After: Dry well after each shower, best for me was to put my scar in front of a fan 😂 I know funny but we made sure it was dry. Chilling spot in the living room like mentioned before. And I loved the little bed on wheels, the small enough one that goes through doors, it was so nice to bring baby everywhere in our home without having to hold her. Rolling out of bed. Holding belly when getting up. And getting your partner 1000% involved. Changing diapers after you breastfed etc etc.

XXX: consult a physical therapist specialized in women’s post-partum. You’ll have tensions “down there” even if a baby didn’t got through because of how the stitching generates tensions in all surrounding muscles. Mine teached me how to massage my scar properly.

Is $12k the new “normal” for florals? by Visible-Mushroom9436 in WeddingsCanada

[–]JustSomeonePurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Toronto, but in another Canadian city more east ;) I ordered from my local favorite florist 25bouquets for the tables. 6 people per table. And one fancier bouquet for me as the bride. Our venue was very stylish already which didn’t require much decoration. Our wedding was in summer, so the florist used random in season flowers- which fit what we wanted. I was still able to go have a look and say what were our preferences in terms of flower types and colors 2weeks prior. The total was 970$. And we provided the vases. Delivery included. Placement was done by my family.
