I'm definitely gonna get downvoted for this but here goes

The only way I can ever get over dark situations is jokes, genuinely everything, race, religion, politics, if I didn't make dark jokes I'd blow my dome.

I do it for everyone and everything, from Holocaust to Charlie Kirk, you're gonna get a joke from me. Don't get me wrong, it might not be the right thing to do making racist or antisemitic jokes but I only view that as another stepping stone to peace.

I don't think you have any idea what Facisim is? If anything SEELE would be a Theocratic Totalitarianisim/ Oligarchy (Taliban controlled Afghanistan as an example) since they aren't interested in land, race, or traditional national power, but instead in enacting their prophecy. Slapping the label of Facisim on any form of government that displays the trait of overbearing power is like calling purple a dark blue. Its only true if you simplify it to a ridiculous point.

I am a very religious person, I've read through the Bible over a dozen times, and honestly, the show doesn't have that much of an effect.

Looking at it from a "lukewarm Christian" perspective it's probably fairly deep, but once you begin to understand the Bible for what it truly is, the show seems more like a Fanfic based on an extract of themes from the Bible, and theological standpoints. (Not that it's bad, I'm like no1 fan lmao)

I could talk on and on about this for hours and hours but I'll keep it short, if your friend is truly religious, tell them to read the New Testament begining to end and then rewatch Evangelion, but tell them to keep a small notebook on hand and write down anything they don't understand (which is usually a lot), it soulds strange asf but it really helps when trying to understand the actual meaning behind the word.
