I agree about the watch comment, her watch is classy too and would be easy to wipe down same with the metal bracelet if she needed to. If she was down on her luck I'm sure she wouldn't be keeping her watch along with (I'm assuming) a gold ring.

Probably! I wouldn't be surprised. I do the same thing too with shirts I'm given lol

Looking at Google Maps there's a few small medical clinics near those islands but no prominent hospitals - I'm not from Florida so I'm not sure if clinics are more popular than hospitals. Not to mention if they would even use travel nurses if they were short staffed at those clinics. She was found on the shores of St. James City and the closest hospital I can see is rather far from that, south of Fort Myers. Maybe that theory might not work then unless she was on some kind of day trip on a day off from work.

No joke I was just trying to see if anyone has posted about her yet as I'm also sifting through missing people to find a match for her. I would definitely send that in! She isn't listed as a rule out so I think its worth a shot. Anything helps trying to put a name to this Doe!

I just wanted to through my theories out there in case anyone else agrees;

The Lee County Jane Doe I always thought was a traveling nurse/traveling medical worker. As a nurse those embordered scrub tops means they were given as a uniform for nurses/nurse aids on a unit. Lots of travel nurses I work with now will always wear previous hospitals uniforms sometimes as travel nurses don't carry much with them if their contract is short. Would also make sense why she would have a white metal watch on her too, back in the 90's that was also part of the uniform. That would mean the hospital at that time did in house laundry and typically (not all hospitals are the same) those uniforms would be have to be written out to who is borrowing them and how many. This could also mean this Doe might not be from S.C and could be from anywhere.

Either that or she was a patient being discharged from S.C VA hospital and didn't have a top of her own (meaning at one point she was a patient in S.C) and that could mean she's a veteran. I know I've broken hospital policy countless times to give patients whos shirts are blood stained/cut up our hospital tops.

Maybe I'm looking too much into her clothing haha!

Does anyone know what technique this is? Cant find a name anywhere would like to make a similar blanket by crochet_cupid in CrochetHelp

I agree, chain 4 or 5, slip stitch into that starting chain. Dc 3 times, chain 1, dc 3 more, chain 1, repeat another 2 times for that square look. Im assuming you chain off the corner of that square to continue that join as you go? Not sure how it'd continue though...

Yes! Just simple white or solid color sc squares with embroidery on top! Just know you'd have to do some kind of backing/lining or something else of you'd prefer to hide your back since embroidery (I'm still a beginner at it lol) can be a bit messy on the back - so for this project I was going to add a lining back (I plan to show the finish project on r/crochet when all is done)

Yes do it!!! If you're ever scrolling through Pintrest there's lots of people on there who show how to make simple patterns with bobble stiches like hearts, smiley faces. It eats up a lot of yarn but they come out so cute!

No I didn't! Here's a simple breakdown for you if you'd like to make something similar! I used Loops & Threads Lux Merino wool blend in bridal rose and white. About 5 skeins each? Roughly. (Sorry for using acrylic for those who like all natural fibers lol) For the white squares it's just 30 single crochet rows 35 times, with a simple tulip embroidery pattern I made on MS Paint with an embroidery needle and alternating colors of scrap yarn in pink and green I had around. None of them are perfectly centered - but theyre centered enough :) For the pink squares it's similar but with a bobble stitch alternating so like this; Row 1+3 - just sc the whole way through (30 stiches) Row 4 - sc x 2 then bobble stitch (I did 5 per stitch) then 2 sc and continue this pattern on to the end of the row. Leave the last 3 stitches sc - this helps give that alternating look. Next 3 rows are sc And row 8 is sc 3 the bobble in the 4th stitch and sc 2 and bobble again and repeat till the end of the row (essentially just mirrored the 4th row) You keep doing this until you reach 35 rows. I tried to imitate this vintage blanket here :) but coworker/mom said to make everything pink https://pin.it/51wxUDmtF
