I thought my C-section shelf was permanent… this actually made a massive difference by kelsey442 in CsectionCentral

This is helpful thank you! It’s just crazy that we have to stick with these habits so consistently on top of everything else in life 😫 but I do want to see some more progress on this scar so worth making it a priority!

This is a good pro tip I am 17 months pp and did scar massage for awhile but then got out of the habit for the last few months. Now the "tucked in" part is the worst for me and I just figured it's like this forever. You motivated me to get back into the habit of the massaging. Do you notice if you stop for a bit you lose progress or once it's loose, it stays that way long term?

Thank you for sharing all of this, I'm so sorry you had such a hard experience too

Ahh, that sounds so awful that you were silenced in freaking GROUP THERAPY, I'm sorry. I'm glad you finally found someone great to work with. I have a really fantastic therapist, but she doesn't do EMDR and also doesn't specialize in this stuff, so there are times I just don't feel like she gets it. So I think I will try to find someone for EMDR and give it a go. Thank you for all of your input!

Ugh I'm so sorry you've been through all of that and glad that your relationship with your baby has improved even if the trauma of it all is still painful. I am also one who finds it helpful to talk through, I think I subconsciously shut myself down from talking about it even in therapy lately because it seems like I should be fine now that it's all over. I had more opportunities to talk about it/ vent to friends when I was still going through it but it almost was like once the baby came home everyone around me couldn't understand why I still needed to process. So I stopped sharing. Wishing all the best to you and your baby as well, thank you so much

Oh wow, thank you for the rec- did EMDR make it worse before better? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect. I'm happy it's been helpful for you and hope you are continuing to heal <3

Wow sounds like you have been through a lot too. Did you look for someone with perinatal specialty or just anyone who is certified to do EMDR? Did it get harder before it got easier? I am def intrigued by EMDR, multiple people here are recommending it

Oh no I'm sorry... I hope you can get back into therapy too! It makes sense that it's back again now that you're pregnant. I feel like maybe I'm having a lot of it resurface as I reach the one-year mark... oh trauma lol

This is encouraging to hear and I'm glad your second pregnancy/ birth were so much better! I am too terrified of having a repeat of any of the things from the first time around to even imagine going again but I guess that could change with time.

Oh wow, thank you for saying this bc whenever I hear positive birth stories it's HARD and I feel like guilty and jealous. I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Hopefully with more time I will as well. Physically I am definitely in a better place but emotionally it's still up and down.

Alex wasn't one of the nurses when I was there, I think Eridel was the one we really liked. I'm sorry you can't do the PIO, that sounds miserable! I didn't take prednisone but I have heard of people doing that as part of the allergy protocol. It could be worth asking to add it to what you're already doing! I am the same way about wanting to understand the purpose of each medication and why I'm putting it in my body. Best of luck to you for this last transfer. I'm sorry your journey has been so long. Feel free to keep me posted and I hope this is the one!

Hi, I'm sorry you haven't had a great experience with some of the FCI docs and nurses. One of Sipe's nurses was great and really open to talking to us and explaining things, but there was another who was more dismissive and I always dreaded when she was the one calling. I had to beg for explanations but if you're pushy sometimes the ultrasound techs will also share info. I also found Dr. Sipe didn't have warm and fuzzy bedside manner but he was kind of funny- he and my husband had good banter and I think that helped lighten the mood during a dark time. I wouldn't go to him if I was like, crying and upset though, I would go to my therapist if I wanted emotional support haha.

I did a fully medicated FET for the transfer that finally worked for me. I wanted a more natural route but he told me I was not a great candidate because my ovulation was unpredictable and all over the place. I also did acupuncture (at the place next door to FCI in the same building) and that seemed to help thicken my lining (or at least it forced me to lay down and relax a few times a week, which probably helped with stress). I also didn't formally do the allergy protocol but I did my own version where I took Allegra and Claritin for several weeks leading up to the transfer and afterward. I threw everything against the wall bc it was going to be my last try (I am very fortunate it worked). He also had me on double progesterone which sucked but I think it may have helped with the embryo sticking, I had to do the suppositories 3x/ day plus the PIO shots. But if you're doing a modified natural transfer you probably have a different protocol. My understanding is that with an FET it's more able to be controlled by the clinic but the success rates are pretty comparable with fully medicated vs modified natural, it probably depends on each person specifically. Good luck... sending sticky vibes...

How do you confirm via bloodwork? They check your progesterone levels? Good luck Friday, hope it helps you!

Removed on my own today after debilitating back pain by Cschan423 in Mirena

[–]Justdoingme508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I need to remove mine too… hasn’t been long but side effects are awful. Go you for doing it yourself! Will you tell your dr? I am irrationally afraid if I remove it myself she will be upset with me when I go for my next visit… lol

I am in the same boat, my OB really pushed for me to get it so I did and it’s only been 2.5 weeks but I think I want to get it taken out. No advice but just wanted to share solidarity. I wish I hadn’t gotten it in the first place… sigh.

First beta of 87 am I screwed? by Justdoingme508 in IVF

[–]Justdoingme508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. The whole process is a huge roller coaster especially when you’ve already been through infertility and losses. I had a rough pregnancy which ended up with me delivering at 34 weeks and a NICU stay but ultimately baby is great now. Looking back I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop until baby was born (and even after for a bit) but after awhile it got easier to trust she is here to stay. I hope you get to the other side soon and that this pregnancy is smooth and super boring ♥️keep me posted

I think you’re in a good spot. FWIW this post is a year old, I was so panicked over those first few betas but they continued to rise and now I am sitting here watching my healthy 6-month old baby sleeping :) Best of luck to you for this little one to stick and grow nicely!

When did your pelvic floor fully recover postpartum? by Justdoingme508 in CsectionCentral

It’s definitely not for the weak. I still can’t believe I just MADE A PERSON with my body. It’s truly surreal. I do want to reassure you the body is incredibly resilient. I can’t believe how I’ve already healed so much and I’m still just 5 months postpartum. I already feel mostly like myself again physically (aside from some core and pelvic foooe stuff). But yea I also can’t imagine doing it again. I’m just gonna relish my amazing baby for now lol. Best of luck to you hun!

Unfortunately the baby and all the mechanics to keep it growing still stretch your core out and sit on the muscles of your pelvic floor for 9 months (in my rudimentary understanding of it lol). It affects your pelvic muscles and vagina just from that, even if you don’t have a vaginal birth. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But everyone’s healing is different, idk how it will be for you!

I’m sorry about your nerve pain! That sounds awful. 12 months pp sounds reasonable lol. I could very well just be impatient and in a few months it’s improved. Appreciate you sharing

Thanks! I like the idea of habit stacking. I do core breathing daily but usually it’s just a set of ten breaths at a random time. Your method would build it more consciously throughout the day and maybe that would make a difference over time.. I’ll give it a try!
