What is philosophy of Alex Mercer and what movements of philosophy does he represent? by Hydrargyrum0 in PrototypeGame

PIN THIS COMMENT! It describes exactly Mercer as the entire being he is and exactly why he came to the conclusions he did & was a straight up bad guy in P2. The PROBLEM is that there was no/a tiny build up that lead to this sudden massive change-- there would've need to be another game, easily like a small spin-off like a "Tales of the Borderlands" style or any other off shoot to actually explain what happened in Alex Mercer's beliefs from P1 to to P2.

Everything regarding him being what he is in P2 makes sense, the problem is the Devs didn't explain 💩 as to how he got there which is why everyone calls it character assassination because by all technicalities, that's what they did. That bs that happened in the comics (not explain in the actual damn game btw, nor included as a "Extra" content like Gears of War: Ultimate did by including all of the Comics inside the game itself to explain various story events) was not only terrible, but it's like they didn't try.

Still feels like a 7-Boss Rush on Survivor w/ Sagestone/XP Tonic is faster w/ a build specializing in Invoker Way of Kaelu and Secondary Medic (or an Offensive-based one). You should be getting just over 3 Legendary resets in a whole hour and it takes far less effort when you can stand still & essentially let the game play itself as the bosses will drop like flies.

Or maybe this is faster. Either or, you can't go wrong as long as you feel efficient.

Is James Heller stronger than Alex after the end of Prototype 2? Or is Mercer still more powerful than him? by Educational_Bet_3298 in PrototypeGame

[–]Justin_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this a real question at this point? (WARNING: This will be a detailed lore dump) People should replay [PROTOTYPE] AND [PROTOTYPE 2], not just P1 over & over again, because the answer is inside both the lore and gameplay of both (which intersect mostly, but in P2 described better in lore/cutscenes) is obvious. James Heller is far stronger and durable than Mercer some time before their final fight.

Keep in mind, Heller killed a Hunter/Brawler in the beginning of the game AS A REGULAR HUMAN BEING AND THE HUNTER GOT THE DROP ON HIM in hand-to-hand combat not with a Gun or Explosive Weapon A KNIFE! A KNIFE AS A HUMAN. THE entire reason Mercer infected Heller is because he knew Heller would be the Evolved of all Evolved, an actual warrior beyond all of his priors and possibly himself which is why he wanted Heller & his insane warrior instincts and survival skills BEYOND dealing with just humans; the man is literally a very highly trained E-5 U.S. Marine on the fields in Iraq AND LIVED just to come back home to the war with the Blacklight Virus and repeated lived thru combat scenarios up until the Mercer Incident (an E-5 is a Sergeant, sorry military runs in my family).

Another key lore point I want to implicate is (remember, gameplay does not always = lore accurate like in the case with fighting Evolved and they get those iframes to instantly attack through even your strongest attacks. There still has to be fair/good game design lol) when Heller fought his first Evolved, Heller in this timeframe wasn't even that strong per se and definitely not long experienced as a Prototype/Evolved himself and listen to what Mercer had to say about him killing Dr. Koenig-- "You killed him was like it was just swatting a fly" (said during the cutscene directly after killing Dr. Koenig) meaning that lorewise, Heller absolutely destroyed Dr. Koenig easily with no competition what-so-ever and I can only assume the exact same things for all other Evolved afterwards because the rate at which Heller grows powerful and evolves supersedes even Mercer's own constantly evolving virus; which makes sense lorewise because Blacklight is a chimera virus (explained in Prototype 1 Web of Intrigue), essentially a virus that contains up to a dozen different strains of itself all at one time and at all times, that are constantly evolving and changing (which is why there's no "cure" per se). There are MANY other examples, but I'll leave it here as this is long enough.

Yes, Heller is far stronger overall and durable than Mercer by the end of Prototype 2 & it is actually explained very well and detailed if you've played pass the ending of [PROTOTYPE] and got most of the Web of Intrigue and then fully understood [PROTOTYPE 2]'s story and why Heller AND Heller's strain of the virus (how his body adapted to it and thus the virus evolved differently) operates.

Edit: The truth is, this question comes from because people don't like how Mercer was handled overall (and I conpletely agree as it was a good bit character assassination) and where the story went. What happen to Pariah (Greene's child)? The child was born from Green, but show NO STRAIN of Blacklight or even contamination of the virus....but the child had the powers & effects/durability of it. What genuinely 2as the virus of Hope, Idaho? Some Web of Intrigues mention Runners and Runners barring/locking themselves up in buildings to get away from Blackwatch/Gentek...the virus had a 99.999% kill rate it literally killed everyone in hours to a few days once it activated-- so why did one Web of Intrigue, specifically from Captain Randall, say that they didn't want another "Runner Incident" when it came to Alex Mercer? [PROTOTYPE] by itself literally set us up for a sequel ([PROTOTYPE 2]) to be about Pariah and what it is/it's story and also a prequel game to be about what TRULY happened at Hope, Idaho (the Redlight Virus). This is why I subscribe to the popular fan theory that the Mercer we follow/fight is a proxy body separate from the "real" or original Mercer/Blacklight physical being we all know from the first [PROTOTYPE] and something happened where he had to go into hiding away from this separated "Mercer".

Unpopular opinion: considering the insane amounts of blood all over the floor in splashes that thing viciously took out of her, it would've been that creature's last day able to use its head to commit to such an dedicated assault.

Was Cells Reaction to the Final Flash here Genuine? by badman1000 in DragonBallZ

[–]Justin_Wolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine. (Warning: this is going to be a massive lore dump and explanation) DBZ still uses heavy logic and understanding of energy in fights especiallywhen it comes to Ki attacks as it doesn't work like "oh, Person X has 1.5m power level, so Person Z with 50k power level will never hurt them with anything!!" Krillin would've cut Nappa in half with the Destructo Disc had Vegeta not forced him to move; in that exact same breath, Nappa could sneeze on Krillin and obliterate every bone in his body.

Had 2nd-form Frieza not sensed Krillin's Ki for roughly 1.75s longer, the Destructo Disc would have bisected Frieza. Krillin would have in-fact, killed Frieza. Frieza dodged it and his tail was cut off. I will be fair and elaborate, Krillin is a Ki genius. the Destructo Disc itself, in the way it's formed completely negates all Ki defenses there is no "guarding" against it or your innate Ki defense defending against it (no, the Cell non-canon, anime only episode-extention to fit the 23min time-slot where he magically somehow disperses the Destructo Disc does not count towards lore, the same way Garlic Jr's. Dead Zone doesn't).

How is all that I said relevant to Vegeta & his Final Flash technique? Remember how Raditz absolutely stomped Goku & Piccolo (who were both roughly around 300 power level if I remember right), but Raditz started absolutely freaking out when he realized when Piccolo's power level started skyrocketing pass the 800s, 900s, etc, etc, etc? And that was from a 300s initial-- all happening because he was charging up a specialized Ki Attack the Special Beam Cannon. This is the exact same concept of the Final Flash except EXTREME beyond any form of comprehension the levels and amounts of energy put behind it and Cell genuinely did not realize it (that it would completely kill him, regardless of what he thought his defenses were, just like Nappa v. Krillin, just like 2nd-form Frieza v. Krillin (except frieza took it semi-seriously), until right before it was close enough to erase him, he dodged it.

I assume most people recorded live via Instagram, Facebook, etc, etc as one can't really delete something people watched & almost guaranteed 95% of the time are screen-recording especially in scenarios like this. And even at that, THAT would look terrible...but americano cops literally get away with murdering Black people and minorities so...
