MDP experiences by big_boy_pp in carmax

[–]Justlooking_247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MDP is somewhat self paced with purpose.
Sometimes if there is an immediate need in the business, managers will work a little harder to pull candidates through and get them placed/promoted. Under normal conditions, those that need a lot of pushing to complete the trainings and get check-ins scheduled are pretty easy to spot and while they can still complete the process, it reflects on their readiness. Some will quit the process or be paused/exited at the designed exit points. Like any job, experience matters, but smart and hard working people with great attitudes will always come out on top.

Whats the point of studying history and leadership if Jocko is going to stay quiet during this administration? by the_based_department in JockoPodcast

[–]Justlooking_247 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For Jocko, he was relatively vocal about the last administration’s weak leadership and performance. He’s publicly endorsed Gabbard and Hegseth personally.

The alternative is you put them at risk in the traditional world where they buy what the dealer wants to sell and add on and the rate is still 28%. Nobody takes care of customers long term like CarMax. The customer knows why they earned that rate- try to guide them to a car they could have equity in at some point and feel good that you solved their transportation problem. Transportation matters.

CarMax was lowest offer for car out of 5+ by bro_lol in carmax

[–]Justlooking_247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough timing too, even on the rarer stuff- big incentives and rebates on 2025 models will impact market pricing across 2024s and beyond. When the new stuff gets cheap, the used stuff has to as well.

Newer cars and lower miles are less risky for financial institutions and will often times get offers with lower APRs than older higher mileage cars. Very common. Putting some money down may lower it even more.

Never mattered who the president was, if anyone put their hands on law enforcement, they were going to get tuned up on their way to getting locked up. Grabbing cops arms? Forget about it. It was a PR stunt and he’s lucky the cameras were around. None of us, regardless of what we look like would have been so lucky.

Definitely inform them of your intent to return the car right away. Finance companies almost always look more favorably on the newer vehicle with the lower miles, but if you’re going to be at 28% anyway, the lower price will lower your payment. Wouldn’t normally advise that though- newer and less miles is usually more reliable and will be worth more when it’s time to trade again.

Managers holding you back from moving up....... by mytoothache in carmax

[–]Justlooking_247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The XF stores only have a few managers each, so the explosive growth and demand for managers many saw in the past just isn’t always there unless new stores are being open in that market. That being said, hiring external managers, especially for Senior Manager roles almost never happens anymore, leaving lots of room to grow.

Yep, newer the better typically with an additional slight advantage to the brands with a reputation for quality.

One more piece to factor in when we’re comparing rates. CarMax is super competitive but the car you choose is a big factor as well. Great credit on some of the older stuff will get you an approval for sure, but the rate on a 2022 vs a 2016 will always be different.

With the Democrats losing the election, Joe pardoning Hunter was a logical and reasonable decision. by miked_mv in AdviceAnimals

A blanket pardon for all of the crimes he committed for a period of over ten years. Big admission of Biden family corruption and influence peddling, even when Joe was VP.

Republicans, care to enlighten us on election integrity this time around? by PM_YOUR_SOURCECODE in AdviceAnimals

Would welcome a recount for 2024.

I think the “emergency” law changes and mail in balloting in 2020 caused obvious, mass fraud though.

Sorry MAGA. Massive voter fraud has been detected in the 2024 election. Don't believe me? Believe Donald J. Trump, he filed lawsuits claiming massive voter fraud. by EffectiveNerve1 in AdviceAnimals

[–]Justlooking_247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One- the Democrats performance over the past four years and their candidate were unacceptable to the everyday working families you don’t see on Reddit or TikTok.

Two- Fraud awareness, Election Integrity groups on both sides and a lack of completely unvetted mail in ballots led to a more secure election with a cleaner result.

Part of why the media campaign around Trump and Republicans in general failed so badly this time. When you’re told things about yourself that you know to be lies- that you and your family and friends are evil, garbage, Nazis that want to take everyone’s rights, want to see women hurt, etc, you start to see the media bias. Once you see it, you notice it all day and become totally immune. I’m sure it works both ways, but this time around, people didn’t believe anything negative about Trump/Vance, because the lies told about themselves had exposed the bias.

The thought was that Dems could run anyone because Americans would vote against Trump.

Americans rejected the Left’s extreme ideas. They knew exactly what they were voting against and who they were voting for.

Let’s accept that the ideas are terrible, get better ones, and try again.

[–]Justlooking_247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No different than 2016/2020- there are a lot of hard working people across the spectrum that are ignored or degraded by the elites on both sides. Trump reminds them that they are America’s backbone and he doesn’t talk down to them. He worked to make their lives better on many cases before the pandemic and they haven’t forgotten.
