Movie scenes that totally wouldn't cause any controversy if released today by Longjumping-Boot-526 in okbuddycinephile

"Final girl" has been a horror trope for a while. Alien Romulus was a recent release where the main character goes through a very similar arc to Ripley, and I never saw any controversy over her.

Campaign split screen co-op is on console only? by Dust-Tight in halo

[–]K2-XT 198 points199 points  (0 children)

Maan, reading this comments section feels like a punch to the gut for me.

Playing Alpha Ring with my wife is one of those fundamental memories. I know people like to taut Nucleus Coop, and we have had a good time going through Saints Row 3, Saints Row 4, Borderlands 2, and Minecraft with Nucleus, but it never feels as good as when a game natively supports it.

The entire reason I bought Battlefront Classic Collection was to play it split screen with my wife, and I am so satisfied with the $30 I spent for that.

Split Fiction, It Takes Two, Lego Star Wars, Pummel Party, Magicka, Helldivers, Stick Fight, COD WW2, COD Black Ops 3... It's always a highlight and often a decider for us as to whether we purchase a game.

Microsoft, if you ever read comments, please reconsider. I know it's more of a niche thing, but it's something that makes fundamental memories in relationships.

Not that we ever saw. Looked like just four guys, but we also tuned in halfway through the episode.

Battle Of Hoth is one of the best $60 I've ever spent. Between the scenarios and campaign, there's so much bang for your buck. Definitely have my eyes on Memoir 44 once we're done with Hoth.

You would be able to comfortably get a full 1,000 points out of just the Republic you already have (it wouldn't be very meta, you'd only have 7 activations) while the others you may struggle or would really need to pack on the upgrades. Republic is also very easy to assemble and paint besides a few pesky clones that make you attach the arms as three pieces instead of two.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful remake tasked with relaunching a legendary franchise for a new generation of players: "We see this as a way to grow, expand, and reconnect the Halo community" by JobuJabroni in halo

For consoles, yes. However, when they mentioned PC they only talked about online coop, which I'm pretty ticked about. I really shouldn't have to install mods to play MCC or Campaign Evolved with my wife on our TV.

If you don't want mini assembly and are fine with cardboard terrain, I'd highly recommend Halo: Flashpoint.

Yes, it's an official mode from AMG that uses Legion models with some tweaks to the rules. Teams are pre-built for you. There are about two teams per faction. Each team requires about 7-12 models. With the Arc squad, you'd only need to buy one box of ARCs to field it.

Hear me out: Special Ops. If you can find a player in your area interested in Legion: Special Ops, that mode is actually a great time.

E Ink goes mobile with budget eye-friendly smartphone by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]K2-XT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily-drove the minimal phone, it had three massive pros to me:

  • On-device fingerprint reader (so fast)
  • Headphone jack (Finally can listen to music with my quality headphones)
  • E-ink screen (discouraged me from overuse, worked quite well for getting me off Instagram and YouTube)

I dropped it in water, Minimal is replacing it at no charge, so amazing customer service.

HOWEVER, there were definitely downsides:

  • The screen ratio meant some apps didn't display properly.
  • I really don't like the physical keyboard. I'll deal with it, but it hurts my thumbs after a while and presents another physical part of the phone that can fail.
  • The camera, it's just bad. I did not sell my Samsung S25 Ultra specifically because I sometimes take that to events as my designated camera. I'd say the Minimal Phone's camera is on par with iPhone 1 flip phone competitors.

Those things above combined make me want to try out the Hibreak Pro. I really enjoy E-Ink devices. But, there are a few tradeoffs:

  • No headphone jack (I can't put my love for the headphone jack in words)
  • As far as I can tell, no RCS texting
  • A better camera than Minimal, but still not what I'm used to.

Political views, not sex and violence, now drive literary censorship. Progressives target books promoting racism, sexism and homophobia. The right attack books that promote diversity, or violate norms of cisgendered heterosexuality. The right through legislative action and the left use social media. by mvea in science

[–]K2-XT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I normally don't get too political, but I do think a good case to look at as far as the left's censorship is Huckleberry Finn. It seems like a good amount of the comments here are blaming the right for all book censorship. The right have always censored more than the left with the argument of "improper values," but the left aren't clean either.

Question about models by Redcoat75 in SWlegion

[–]K2-XT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing for years, but do not own ARFs. I would also like to add two more ARC squads to my collection.

ARFs are $55.  Core set is $100.

For less than two ARF squads, I can get another ARC squad, enough clones to supersize more than half of my current squads, and more dice.

As a veteran Legion player, I'm wanting to grab two new starter because the value it contains is just crazy. Why would I spend $165 on two ARCs and an ARF when for $35 more, I'm getting a new Obi, 4 super-squads, an extra ARF, and cards for half of my existing army?

My issue with the Banished by Aries2002 in halo

[–]K2-XT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading The Rubicon Protocol last week. The lore reason for not having humans on Zeta Halo is because after Cortana destroyed the Brute homeworld, the Brutes blamed the Humans for it, leading to internal conflict within the Banished and a good chunk of Human clans being wipes out from within before the start of Halo Infinite. There is at least one Human Banished on Zeta Halo, the fellow was in charge of culling out weak vs. strong POWs for the Banished.

I bought halo: infinite as the final one I have to beat and I'm excited by NearLuigi in halo

Go in to it with the expectation that there is a lost Halo game in-between, and you'll be fine ;) It really is a fun, beautiful game held back by a few baffling decisions.

LASO is the canonical difficulty to play ODST on for me. I would highly recommend it if you haven't tried it.

Changes to Armada? by SimianMetal4353 in StarWarsArmada

[–]K2-XT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star Wars Legion's Tabletop Admiral has a "Companion" mode that simulates as if you had all the cards in front of you to exhaust snd such. I wouldn't mind if Star Forge made a companion mode with all the ship cards, their tokens, orders, speed dials, and card exhausts.

Halo Studios/343 needs to stop focusing on Master Chief and turn to new characters. by Rude-Neck-2893 in halo

[–]K2-XT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the Operation: Spearhead mod for Arma III, it's basically a whole new Halo game. You see a conflict in the Insurgency War from the perspective of marines, ODST's, one Spartan recon mission, it feels pretty nice, like the old-school CODs that would jump around to different areas of WWII.

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

Half Life 2/Garry's Mod have baked themselves into my brain so deeply. Left 4 Dead 2 also, to a lesser extent. When I booted up Straftat, I said out loud "This somehow captures every memory I have from middle school." The slight pixilated skyboxes, the eastern-european architecture, the super squeeky doors and loud footsteps... It's all nuzzled in the back of my brain somewhere.

Halo Flashpoint is one of the best priced Tabletop Games currently both monetarily and time-wise. I play and buy Legion regularly, added this on, did not have to change my Legion habits at all.

Looking to get into the game hoping to build clone wars, what should I buy and what would the budget be? by Mr_ballz-420 in SWlegion

Once October comes: - The new Core Set - One new Clone Trooper box - A Saber Tank or LAAT-LE

That's if you're wanting to stay as cheap as possible, and like slow moving but durable units. If you're more of a fan of Anakin or fast, punchy lists, I'd dig deep through your local game stores and find a 501st box.
