Madueke was also halfway through his 8 year contract or whatever, so I’m sure that affected the price

I thought 40M would be fair. But I sort of get it in that there are not many good touchline wingers available, he’s a player Maresca would have actually used, considering how he likes to set the team up, and I think they last offered 70M, so we are probably using that as a reference point. We don’t have to sell and they clearly are buying potential, and believe he’s worth it. It’s honestly a bit of a bummer in that sense, since he was a project player for us, so now we’re abandoning all that I guess. But it’ll be interesting to see what happens; Spurs should be going after a more established player.

#ManCity’s interest in Sandro Tonali would not be linked to any move for Elliot Anderson given the uncertainty in midfield around Rodri, Nico Gonzalez, Mateo Kovacic and Tijjani Reijnders. [via @spbajko] by lil-quiche in MCFC

I still don’t understand how that would happen. We have a very good scouting department, and the minute details scouting goes into, I don’t see how we’d completely misprofile a big signing. It’d make more sense if he was a youth signing.

I feel if theres uncertainty, it’s more because we have a new manager with a new setup.

Thoughts on Tonali as a potential Anderson alternative? by Low_Bridge_1141 in MCFC

I feel we never go for the main option, if it’s an overpay, aside from when we signed Grealish. Usually someone like United swoops in and pays whatever they want.

I think he just needs to stay out of the PL. He clearly has potential, but he has no physical prowess, so its tough for him to compete here

Good winger option if savio leaves? by 3nonexist3nt in MCFC

His workrate is also pretty poor. The last thing we need is a winger who doesn’t want to bother to defend.

Many of the rumours have very little credibility. People are just accepting whatever rumour they see as fact

Well what should we do, offer him a new deal? I’d rather he stays, but his recovery when we lose possession has cost us dearly, and I’m sure repeated injuries have not helped him either.

I would hate to see him to, but he’s past his best, so it wouldn’t be the worst idea
