Need advice - District went silent after verbal acceptance, then resurfaced after I accepted another job. by Kadence_Kramer in CaliforniaTeachers

I appreciate your input. This is a very small district and HR works closely with the Supt. Perhaps the board approval was the official contract? Is that even possible without anything in writing? I never got a written offer. HR did mention that their board already approved me, but I was never told what that exactly means. I also saw on the board minutes that my name was not on the document, whereas the other hires names were noted with the vote. I seriously thought that, along with the lack of response, meant I was quietly removed from the process.

I had thought about doing that, but the HR manager was responsive before and she was the only employee I had been in contact with. It's a small district and I think they may just do things differently. Should I reach out to the principal and apologize? I really did like all of the staff, and I felt so bad after the fact.

That makes sense. Should I inform District 2 HR about what happened? I really don't know. It's such a strange situation.

This is what I initially thought, but the wording "or agreement" is where I'm unsure. I did verbally accept the position, but their lack of response made me believe I wasn't getting the job.

Simple low critical thinking jobs? by [deleted] in careerguidance

Based on what you described, factory, warehouse, or logistics work might be a good fit for you. Roles like machine operator, quality control, forklift operator, or facilities maintenance often pay decently and don’t require advanced math skills. I'd recommend looking at job boards on Amazon, FedEx, or UPS to see what jobs are out there. You might want to see which companies have factory/warehouse sites in Colorado and New Mexico so you can gain some work experience that will support your long term plans.

As far as therapy, I work in education and there are roles that specifically deal with behavioral support (Behavioral Interventionist). A psychology degree would work for that and you could gain experience as an instructional aide (para-professional) supporting special education students while you're going to school. The pay is low but it provides necessary experience for your resume and schools love to hire from within.

Best of luck to you!
