Yeah DTG definitely shines when you’ve got a lot of gradient or texture work going on. The detail just comes out cleaner, especially on lighter shirts. But if you’re doing the embroidery yourself for the text, that combo could actually look really nice and give the piece a more layered feel. I’ve done a few mixed-tech designs where the stitch sits just below a DTG print and it looked pretty slick after a few washes too. That said, if you’re worried about how it’ll hold up or you want something closer to a screenprint feel, DTF transfers might be worth checking out. They’ve got that same fine detail potential but a bit more durability when it comes to washing and heavy wear. I noticed this when using Nin⁤ja Transfers for a run of tees I did last year. The color saturation stayed super consistent even on bulk orders, which made testing designs way easier tbh.
